I recently completed my Master's degree in Film at the University of Toronto, and am looking forward to starting my doctorate this year (if a good school accepts me!). I'm also a musician and a writer; if my band has a gig while you're staying in Toronto, I'll get you some free passes!
I am overseeing the Airbnb account for this apartment while its regular tenants, a couple with whom I am close friends, are working abroad this year. I have many great memories of hanging out with them in the apartment, and am happy to ensure that it will be waiting for them when they return to Canada.
Airbnb has treated me really well so far, and I hope it's done the same for you too. I'm going to start using it much more often, since I travel around Canada and Europe a fair bit and am sick of over-crowded backpacker hostels.
If you stay at the apartment, I definitely want to recommend that you check out the House On Parliament, which is on the same city block as the apartment and is arguably the best-loved pub in Toronto. It has HANDS DOWN the best menu of any bar in town (the pulled pork sandwich with a spinach salad is my go-to meal when I'm there) and the service is (almost) always friendly. On a similar note, my favourite independent coffeeshop in Toronto, Jet Fuel, is 2 minutes north of Carlton on Parliament; definitely worth a stop on your way out in the morning.
