Very nice neighborhood. Host was nice. Apartment is very rudimenary and on a very noise street. Bring earplugs.
It was great. A wonderful experience in a nice clean studio. Amy was thoughtful and accommodating. I would have no problem staying there again. Best value out there.
Although we never got the chance to meet Amy, coordinating check-in and arranging check-out was easy and went smoothly. Her studio is cozy and in a wonderful location a block west from Central Park. A great New York experience.
Amy's place is exactly as described. (the couch is now a futon). The studio apt is in a wonderful location on the UWS. It's right near everything you'd need - subway, Central Park, great restaurants, et al. The bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is small, but who cares, you're in NYC - eat out. I'd say it's perfect for one or two, but if you had more people you're pushing capacity. One note - as others have mentioned - the place gets really good sun in the morning, so it's bright. It also over looks Columbus Ave, so it can be noisy in the morning. I used a white noise app on my phone to silence some of it, and I slept fine. Otherwise, Amy is a great host, easy key pick up and she let me leave my bags in the unit after check-out as I had a later afternoon flight. Thanks, Amy!
Amy was flexible with check-in and responsive by text.
Everything was fine. Amy is really nice and helpful.
Location, Location, Location. The apartment is located in an ideal area of Manhattan with easy access to everything. The bed is very comfortable. Though the place needs a coat of paint, it is adequately equipped. If you are sensitive to light and noise coming in during the night, you should bring a blindfold and earplugs, as it is on a busy corner of the UWS and the window coverings do not cover the light from cars and street lights, the bed being right next to the window.
Thought it is listed on the second floor, there are 38 steps to climb to the door of the apartment; a challenge.
I've met Aysun in 2007, as we both were going to Columbia University in New York. We became very good friends and spent lots of quality time together, so I had many chances to observe her welcoming and giving attitude towards friends as well as total strangers. Aysun is a very friendly and energetic person, who enjoys having an international friend circle around her. She's curious and open minded in terms of understanding all different cultures and customs. She also keeps great track of the cultural events and entertainment hot spots in the city. I totally believe that she'll be a good friend and a great host for your welcoming stay in NYC.
