The Loft was a great place to stay at while in Venice. It was perfectly located on the Cannaregio canal in an area that was a short walk from the bus and train stations, with lots of restaurants close by. It is minutes away from the main road that snakes through Venice to the Rialto Bridge. You will find lots of shopping opportunities on this road.
The Loft itself was better than we expected. It was very clean, tastefully decorated, well-equipped (including a clothes washer and dishwasher) and very quiet. It was actually bigger than we thought it was going to be. We didn't have any issues at all with the place. Everything worked for us including the water. There isn't a huge amount of water pressure in the shower, but it is a rain shower so certainly worked fine for us.
Jacopo was very easy to deal with. As arranged, he met us at the train station when we arrived and walked us to the place. His English was very good and he was able to explain everything we needed to know, including the location of the electric panel (in case of a power failure), as well as information on where to eat and shop in the area.
If we were ever to return to Venice, we would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately, Jacopo informed us that the owner will no longer be renting the unit on a short term basis. Truly a shame!
Jacopo was a great host. He greeted us at the parking garage (which he had recommended) and helped us carry our luggage during the very short walk to the apartment. He showed us all the things we needed to know for the apartment such as the electric breaker box and how to operate the washer. He also gave recommendations of where to eat and helped us estimate the walk time to our tour meeting spot. There are several places to eat right outside the apartment but the neighborhood feels less touristy. It was nice to have a little courtyard with trees which you don't see much in Venice. The apartment was clean, spacious, and very modern. The wifi was fast and stable.
Arriving into Venice for the first time not knowing what to expect or not being orientated - it was wonderful to meet Jacopo greeting us and helping us to the wonderful apartment. Jacopo was great and went through so many helpful hints regarding the apartment and Venice. We chose the apartment as it was close to the station so we didn't have to lug our luggage around Venice. Wow that was a great idea! It was in a perfect! Venice is a very crowded city and it is difficult to move around freely - you are walking single file a lot of the time! So having the apartment here allowed us to have the chance to get away from the crowds yet be able to explore Venice. We loved the apartment, it was perfect! Everything worked beautifully, it was quite modern, very clean and very very spacious! The kitchen table was so good to have available. The wifi worked beautifully which was great and very important to me! The area is very quiet so got plenty of uninterrupted sleep! So perfect, host, perfect apartment and Perfect location! We have no concerns in recommending this apartment to others. Thank you Jacopo for a great stay in your beautiful city!
Jacopo was waiting for us at the train station, he took my wife's luggage, and walked us to the apartment just a short distance away (approximately 9-10 minutes). He speaks good English and told us all about the apartment and places to eat. He was very nice. There was 2 things we had issues with that were beyond his control as he is currently not the owner of the apartment: the bed was very hard for our liking. I'd suggest the owner buys another mattress or a foam cushion (much cheaper) to put on top of the current mattress. The other issue we had was with the water pressure in the shower. It was marginally acceptable. Everything else was perfect, i.e., the location, air conditioning, kitchen utensils, washer/dryer, noisy level, and location. Thank you, Jacopo!
Very helpful, personable & communicative. Picked us up at the train station
My fiancé and I stayed at this apartment for 3 days. We had a good experience overall. Jacopo was very nice. He met us at the station and walked us to the apartment. The apartment is very close to the train station and also a boat stop that can take to directly to and from the airport. Everything in Venice is within walking distance. It's about a 30min walk to St. Mark's square. There is a great crepe place just outside the apartment that is great for breakfast.
The apartment itself was nice and modern as pictured. Air conditioning works very well and kept the apartment nice and cool. The bed was not very comfortable which seems to be the norm for Italy (we stayed at 4 different places in Italy). It is actually 2 twin beds pushed together. My main complaint is the bathroom as water pressure if very low in the shower. Also, the toilet does not seem to flush well. It takes several flushes to flush toilet paper. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the apartment and Jacopo was a great host.
The loft in Venice was wonderful! I didn't meet Jacopo but his friend greeted me at the Water Bus Stop and gave me a good tour and instructions on the place. Plenty of room, a well equipped Kitchen, and a great location in such a quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a great stay in Jacopo's beautiful modern apartment. We were met by a friend of Jacopo's who provided us with some local information which was helpful. The place was clean, tidy and air conditioned. It was in a great location near the station but tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. Situated near some nice local bars and restaurants. We did have an issue with the TV that couldn't be rectified at the time as Jacopo was away. We wanted to watch the World Cup! Other than that it was an impressive large place and very comfortable. Thanks Jacopo.
Our host was great with giving us info to get to his place by the water bus. We were met by his colleague, upon arrival. She showed us to the apartment, and recommended a restaurant nearby. We liked the location of this place and it was also very spacious and comfortable with the AC. So, we felt like it was a great place to stay, but we had a few issues while we were there. We were on a month long honeymoon, and had just gotten there after being in France for 12 days. We booked this place mostly because it had a washing machine. I would suggest that Jacopo leave the manual for the washing machine for future guests or detailed instructions, because most of the writing on the washing machine dials was rubbed off, and my clothes were stuck in the machine for over 2 hours. This was so frustrating, and could have been prevented with some instructions. Also, we had a black-out at midnight while doing laundry and running the AC. We turned to the hosts manual, but couldn't figure out where the circuit breaker
was.. This was really frustrating, because we looked everywhere outside, his directions to find it were not clear. We ended up finding a pay ;phone, since my phone wouldn't call internationally, and it did not work.. So, we asked a lovely girl outside of a local bar if we could use her phone, and she spoke some English, thankfully. She was so sweet and helpful. She called Jacopo, who was in Spain at the time. He explained to her where the breaker was. It was way behind a moving wall in the lobby entrance.. Wow ! So, we would suggest that he gives clear and more detailed instructions for finding this.. We made a new friend that night, and of course bought her and her friend a glass of prosecco, so not too bummed. But, I don't know how forgiving other guests would be.. Were just cool like that, and found the good in the experience of our black-out.
Our two night stay in Jacopo's apartment in Venice was great. It is in a convenient location that is also quiet and Jacopo was a great host kindly walking us from the station to the apartment.
The only minor inconvenience was the apartment power going out if too many appliances were running at once but that was easily reset and avoidable once we knew.
I'm happy with my experience staying at Jacopo's place! Would stay here again.
