Very nice contact! The appartment has everything you need, a nice balcony and an well equiped kitchen. the sleeping room has an aircon. moon over tulum is a safe and well optained unit with a nice pool and whatever you need, Barbara will always do her best to help. It also has a fast wifi! I will return when i'm in Tulum. It's a long way to the beach, so you better have a rental car when you book.
Moon over Tulum was a great choice. Barbara is super nice and was there at the time of our arrival to let us in and explain everything even though we got there already at night time.
The place is clean and nice. We used the pool everyday which has really nice vegetation all around. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked almost every meal which saved us a lot of money.
The neighborhood of La Veleta is really nice and safe and if you like running you will have a fun time checking out the nice houses in the jungle.
Renting a car is highly recommended as the place is about 15 minutes drive from the beach, cenotes and other attractions.
It was nice to stay in town as there are a lot more affordable eating options, supermarkets and shops( the little shop next to the apartments has all the basic stuff and was quite handy).
I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
This was just the place I needed for my first few days off the plane. Barbara was so friendly and helpful and the apartment was great. Nice, laid back neighbourhood, lots of space and clean and comfortable. Barbara even had a bike I could rent which I'd recommend for getting to the beach (it's so pleasant cycling around Tulum and most importantly it's all flat!). Happy customer!
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in the town area of Tulum. The place is very comfortable, clean and quiet. It's the perfect place for 1 person or a couple who want to have a place that feels like a home. A nice king bed was comfortable for sleeping and the bathroom was clean and modern. All the appliances make it perfect if you want to cook meals or even have a little barbecue with the charcoal grill on the private back patio. The garden/pool area is so lovely and a nice place to take a quick dip or enjoy a drink. All the amenities worked as they should and the place overall was bigger and better then I could have hoped for.
The location is very safe and a 5 minute walk to El Camello restaurant for amazing seafood. You can also walk to dwntwn in 15 min or if you rent bikes is 5 minute ride. Renting a bike makes the trip so much more fun. You can explore the little neighborhoods much easier and riding to the beach is a possibility if you can do a 30-45 minute ride. I rode to the beach almost everyday, even a few nights, and it was no problem.
My hosts, Barbara and Chris, were very nice from the moment I arrived. They shared with me all the great places to go to experience real Tulum and get away from the more tourist areas. I could reach them whenever I had a question and they responded quickly.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay near the center of Tulum.
Barbara was very accommodating and friendly. She knew all about tulum hot spots and the sort was clean and spacious.
Barbara made us feel very welcome, and the whole complex is maintained daily. She has 2 bikes that you can normally use but another couple had already gotten to them before us. The street is a bit tricky to find if your cab driver does not know where it is, because there are no signs (as is the case with many of the streets in Tulum).
The easiest way to get there (we found) was from the main road, go down the road where Aguachile is on the corner, and keep going a few blocks until you pass a house with a black metal lizard on the gate (right hand side) and a white walled house. Take a right on that road (the white walled house is on a corner) and it's just beside the first shop you see.
The location is towards the end of town - close to Aguachile on (which is a very good restaurant, and were very helpful coming up with dishes for a vegetarian), and El Camello (which always had a queue and was very popular). You are very close to some bike hire shops which we would recommend as it makes getting around very easy - we paid 80 pesos/day. There is a little shop for small things like water or cold drinks next door to the flat, and a laundromat close to El Camello.
The pool was very refreshing after going to the beach or exploring the town and ruins all day. We didn't use a lot of the kitchen, mostly the fridge to keep things cool. It gets a bit stuffy when you are out because the glass doors are shut, but when you get home, just open the doors and keep the screens shut (for the bugs) and the ceiling fans cool the place down in no time.
Wifi was very dependable and a decent speed.
We wanted to stay in town because we had more options like going to the beach, the ruins, or town etc, and wanted to see more of what Tulum was like than just the hotelzone/touristy area. There is also an excellent street stall with a red awning called Taqueria "Los Yucas" which is just past the police checkpoint who do arrecherra (beef) and some tasty (but spicy!!) sauce things for 25 pesos with a drink.
All in all, great stay, we had a lovely time :)
Once we connected on WhatsApp, Barbara was easy to communicate with. Beach towels were not provided but she helped me to rent them. The location is not close to the beach, but it is in a calm area and the pool is relaxing.
Barbara was a very kind and accessible host. The apartment was clean and new, in a quiet location not too far from the main strip if you have a rental car. Otherwise it's about a 15 minute walk to the road where you can get a cheap taxi into town.
Barbara and Chris were very sweet and welcoming. It's a great little apartment, well equipped kitchen and a big comfortable bed. The pool is wonderful and refreshing and the garden is shady and beautiful. It's definitely good to rent a car or at least bicycles to get around town and to the beach. We were 2 adults and a baby and it worked great for us.
really professional and serious
