I am a fun, creative, energetic woman who loves to travel, cook, hike, and explore. I have a degree in Film, from Emerson College, with a specialty focus in Production Design. I am an independent documentary filmmaker by degree, but also work in education in both experiential education and special education fields. I have also worked professionally as a cook, a farmer, a florist, and an event planner! I love to garden, hike, kayak, cook and eat good food, explore new places, and be outside. My husband, Shawn, is an Environmental Engineer and works at a consultant firm in Montpelier. He is an avid home-brewer and builds amazing bonfires! We got married a couple years ago here in the Mad River Valley and live happily with our beloved dog, Juan and a few lovely kitties.
We live in a charming country home just up the hill from downtown Waitsfield, in the heart of Vermont's Mad River Valley. Our home is always bright, clean, and super comfy. We like to welcome guests with freshly baked treats, and enjoy sharing a drink and swapping stories if you are up for it! However, if you are here to get some peace and quiet, we totally understand, and think that you will find our home to be the perfect place for just that! We are on a country road, surrounded by grazing pastures (for the cows on the fully operational farm down the road!), meadows, lush forest and delightful mountain views all around.
If you are in town for outdoor adventures, you could not find a better location. We have a prime location for all that Vermont and the Mad River Valley have to offer:
- super close to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski mountains
- on a regularly used road - bike route
- just above the Mad River- famous for its kayaking, canoeing, and tubing
- just up the road from historic Brigde St. and downtown Waitsfield
- a few minutes from some of the best restaurants in all of Vermont
- 360 views of Vermont's famous foliage, with mountain ranges in full view!
- just down the road from the Von Trapp Family Farm
- easy access to Route 100 and to I-89, taking you to Warren, Waterbury, Montpelier, and Burlington
- so much more!!
Shawn and I know the area well, and so are here to make your stay as amazing as possible, no matter the reason for your trip. If you need advice on anything from the best local swimming holes, to near by hikes, restaurants, farm stands, or local breweries we are here for you!
We love to travel, and so know and value the ease of having some space to call your own while you are away from home. Some of our favorite travel destinations have been New Zealand, Israel, Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. No matter where we are, we treat our surroundings with respect and maturity. Thanks for your consideration,
Talia and Shawn
