We've stayed here before . It's always clean and kept nice. Robert is right there when you need anything. Always a pleasure! Will stay again .
We like going here . Clean and cosy . Robert is a great host . Looking forward to going back .
We had a fun and relaxing weekend in a beautiful spot. The house is designed for enjoyment, which we did - sunning on the patio(s), using the boats and even playing some pinball.
We had a wonderful weekend at Robert's cabin in the Catskills. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and very homey - with a great kitchen to cook our catches from Lake Huntington nearby, where we had a great time fishing for days in Robert's rowboat. Robert was a wonderfully gracious host, and was always available to help with anything. It was exactly what we needed - quiet time by a lake, time by the woodstove at night (there's a huge outdoor firepit as well), time spent hiking the trails in the woods behind the cabin, and a perfectly relaxing time fishing on the lovely lake. Oh, try that bakery people are talking about - it's worth it! And check out Calicoon nearby - we had a great time poking around that cute town at night.
Will DEFINITELY be back. Also, a great place for groups to stay as there are two lovely cabins with two bedrooms each! Thanks for a wonderful trip, Robert!!
Overall, a great weekend getaway! The grounds are breathtaking, the cabin is cozy and clean, and Bob was a very gracious host. Our dog had a blast running around the grounds and swimming in the lake. The fire pit was a lot of fun. I would suggest bringing supplies to cook or bbq meals as the kitchen is well-stocked and brand new and restaurants in the area are limited. If you need to order, the chinese take-out menus on top of the fridge are pretty good! Also, don't forget supplies for s'mores and extra newspaper for starting the campfire (closest store is Pete's Mini Mart off 17B). We highly recommend Bob's cabin #1!
We had a great time...everything we expected. Hubby looooved the fire pit and we especially enjoyed exploring the woods. Great place for a break from everything else....oh and the bakery, AMAZING!!! Can't even articulate the experience and people who love this community....thank you Bob for you hospitality!
This was a very disappointing stay. The area is beautiful, but the hygienic conditions in the bathroom were very bad. The linoleum tiles were cracked and missing in some areas and brown water was seeping from the ground into the bathroom. Also, the toilet flush wasn't working and in the shower mold had started forming. We had to use up all the towels available just to keep from having to walk through disgusting brown water coming through the tiles. When I mentioned these issues to the host and that a partial refund of our $577 for three nights would be appropriate, he immediately came over to look at them. However, he tried to convince us that the water was coming from taking showers. We had only taken one shower at this point and were very careful not to get water on the ground. I guess The fact that the cleaning person mops the floor with water didn't come to mind... Anyway, no refund! After we saw that there was construction going on at the section of the lake that we had access to (was never mentioned to us by Robert), we didn't bother going back and went to the much nicer Lake Superior close by. I use airBnB all the time and never had a bad experience. Overall I think Robert is a nice guy with a big heart, but with all the cabins and construction he has going on, just completely overwhelmed.
This is a great spot and a really fun house. We had a group of 10 people and felt comfortable. The lake took over our trip, we were on kayaks, the paddle boat and just swimming around. Robert was responsive when we needed more sheets and answered all questions promptly.
Couple things to know. There is a road between the house and dock, so be careful if you have kids running around. The house is in pretty good shape, but it could use a little touching up. There is enough plates, mugs, glasses for about 4-6 people. I would suggest bringing more or buying paper plates. Pots and pans are decent as are knives and BBQ stuff, might want to bring something there too. No blender (other than the margarita machine :), food processor , rice cooker, large stock pot, etc.
Overall a great stay, we plan to come back.
Robert is an amazing host. This is the second time staying at his campsites. They are very secluded and well kept. Will definitely be back again next year!!
We had a wonderful time for our weekend get-away. Robert was very welcoming, and he made sure to make us comfortable and happy. The cabin was even better than we thought it was going to be, everything was new inside and very clean. We would definitely return, especially as Robert said he is improving and expanding his properties.
