easy walk to the beach, stores & restaurants.
A group of 5 of us stayed here for two nights, and thought it was small we made it work. :) The couch is futon, and there is an air mattress in the closet, and there are plenty of towels, and lots of fun stuff like snorkel gear, surf&boogie board, and bikes are also included. The place is in a great location - it's right near Rainbow Drive Inn, and 711 and lots of other great restaurants, and is just a short drive away from Waikiki. Another plus is that there is a designated parking spot. It did get a little loud in the wee hours (heard neighbors walking home) so I'd recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Overall, good experience and value.
Everything was as the host described. The house was within walking distance of the main waikiki area, but far enough away so that you wouldn't have the massive crowds partying next to you at night. As other reviews mentioned, they do have some noisy neighbors, but we found that after a while, we were able to ignore them and go to sleep right away. For those going to Hawaii for the 1st time I want to warn you of two things: 1 don't leave anything in your car when you leave it that is visible. I had my first experience with car vandalism while in Oahu. My wife left her bag on the floor of the passenger seat and our car was vandalized in an attempt to get the bag. Fortunately they weren't able to gain entry to the car. Secondly, don't leave anything out that is sweet or gives offs scents of being sweet. If you do, you may have a bunch of ants crawling around on it when you come back to the house. We left out some cough drops and ants were all of it when we came back from our day.
Our family, 2 adults and 2 children, spent the first February week in the apartment. While the location is excellent (yet very noisy), I wouldn't go there with more than 3 people. The futon bed could fit only one of our skinny children, so it is definitely not suitable for adults, let alone for someone tall. The place was clean, yet I was very disappointed with the bed sheets and the towels. However, considering the price, I guess this is a good choice for someone not wanting to spend a lot of money on accommodation.
This was a great spot to call home during our stay in Oahu. I spent a week with two of my girlfriends. Centrally located right in Diamond Head, a convenient parking spot, clean kitchen/bathroom/bed. There was laundry on premises and plenty of beach toys and towels. Joanna promptly answered any and all questions we had.
The futon was not the most comfortable or large in the world, but we made do. Also, the dryer broke, but Joanna quickly redirected us to a laundromat a block away that cost the same as the broken dryer.
Great location and amenities. Only a 15 minute walk to Waikiki and multiple restaurants within walking distance to the property. The apartment even had bikes, a boogie board, surf board and snorkel sets, complete kitchen, and most valuable a parking space. Unfortunately on our last night the neighbors had a party and someone parked in our spot. The apartment is very neat, clean and well kept. Lots of extra towels, blankets and toiletries as well. Just be aware that windows have glass shutters (aka jealousy shutters which are common). It's great bc it lets in the cool Hawaiian breeze but downside is that there's no sound barrier with the neighbors outside or the washer/dryer outside the bedroom window. Usually quieted down at night around 11pm or midnight. If your hungry, rainbow drive-inn is literally next door and they were features on food networks DDD, as was Side Street Inn Cafe which was a 5 min walk away.
The place is quite small but definitely cost efficient. It is also very ideally located close to but not inside the crowded waikiki area. The free parking space is great also! Jennifer was extremely fast at answering messages etc.. The wifi isn't great but was not a big deal.
Excellent location, great amenities, clean. The futon is uncomfortable to sleep on, and different from the couch showed in the pic at the time of this review, but hey, it's a futon, and it's not like we wanted to spend much time hanging out on the couch. Lock system is very convenient. Overall, a great experience.
Perfect appartment for short or long stay in Honolulu. Everything is so close (7eleven - 20m, Waikiki 15 minutes) and i found in appartment the best equipment what i get on airbnb - snorkel mask, bikes, surf, body surf :-) My rating isn't 100% but 150% :-) thanks for our hosting :-) Fast communication and quick response :-) everything great :-)
Very convenient location, and included parking was great. The full kitchen was nice to have. For a third of the cost of a hotel room in Waikiki this was a good value. The unit was perfect for our needs.
Joanna was great, I would rent to her again anytime!
Joanna was very nice and a pleasure to rent to. I would be more than happy to host her again at my place. Thank you!
Joanna was respectful and clean. I would definitely recommend him as a guest in your home.
Joanna was super easy to host, and even though she was arriving late at night she was able to be flexible about the key exchange.
Joanna is trustworthy. What she tells you in her profile is exactly as it is in real life. I have been to and have stayed in the unit she rents and so I know first hand. She is clean and respectful. I have known her for about a year and am constantly impressed by her adventurous, ambitious spirit.
I would not hesitate to rent my own place to her and I know that people who rent from her get what they expect.
