I love my family, the mountains, trees, quiet, animals, ideas and conversation. I also have a studio in Julian called Studio Samadhi.

We loved staying at Big Pine Cabin! Christine was great host, very helpful, and easy going. It was very relaxing and a great spot for a nice quiet getaway. The tire swings were an added bonus that our son really enjoyed. We highly recommend Whispering Pines and Christine!
Couldn't have asked for a more pleasant country getaway than Whispering Pines. Loved the rustic feel of the whole place which included our adorable cabin complete with a wood burning stove, a tire swing to bring back childhood memories, and a very friendly cat named Marco Polo! Julian in spring time is like something out of a Thoreau work, and that's exactly how I wanted it to be. Thank you so much to Christine our host!! Can't wait to come back already :)
Christine and her family were very welcoming when we arrived at Little Pine cabin. The caretaker greeted us with a smile and said hello as we got out of the car. We were very worried about parking correctly as parking at home is a big issue. Christine was very kind and responded to my texts promptly even though she was at work when we arrived. She was very flexible about parking which was much appreciated! We initially wanted to rent out the Big Pine cabin but it was not available during the days we requested. Christine offered the Little Pine cabin and we took it. It was very small for the three of us and our dog, but it was still comfortable. When we arrived it was very cold out- I think Christine could tell we were chilled and she taught us how to use the wood burning pot belly heater in the main room. There is a super cute tiny Wedgwood stove in the kitchen that still works great. I was relieved to find the french press in the cupboard too! The kids loved the goats and chickens and my daughter could not get enough of the hammocks and tire swings. The cabin is located close enough to Julian that we were able to make a few day trips and got to visit places we wouldn't have got to see otherwise. We toured the Eagle Creek mine, hiked Lake Cuyamaca, went to Anza Borrego Springs to see the giant Avery sculptures etc. and also got to eat in town everyday. Super fun trip!
This was our 2nd stay in the Big Pine cabin and once again we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The location is peaceful, beautiful, and a short drive into town. This is our go-to place to stay when we visit Julian. Christine is most accommodating.
We had a wonderful one-night stay in Christine's charming cabin, perched high in the hills. The wif-fi worked great but we turned off our phones, got a fire going, opened a bottle of wine, grilled a steak and dialed the clock back about 50 years. We also appreciated the restaurant and hiking tips Christine gave us.
Adorable cabin with a pot belly stove to warm it up that night and again in the morning.
great neighborhood, close to town, cute little place with beautiful views. Stayed with two friends for her birthday.
The residence was as described. It was close to town yet extremely peaceful.
Christine was quick to respond when we sent her an inquiry and she greeted us when we arrived.
We would recommend a stay.
A group of 5 of us wanted to get out of the city for the weekend and what better place than a quick drive to Julian. We were also celebrating my Birthday so I was super stoked. We arrived to Big Pine just a bit after 3 with a note on the door welcoming us and letting us know the cabin was ready. Super cute cabin w plenty of space for 5 of us to not feel cramped, not to mention plenty of sleeping space. Christine later came to introduce herself and make sure we were good to go. She was a pleasure to talk to and offered us some wood for the night and mentioned she had left extra blankets for us. She was very welcoming and accommodating. The cabin also sits on a fairly large land which is nice to just explore around.. Thanks Christine! We can't wait to come back.
Perfect little cabin for a weekend getaway. It's in a great location, just a short, pretty drive into town, with lots of winding roads for exploring on foot. The grounds are amazing - tire swings, goats, chickens, and great little sitting spots all around. The cabin is small but perfect for one or two people. Very warm and cozy and the kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans and dishware. The wood burning stove is awesome and the stocked box of wood made it easy to keep warm. Christine, the host, is welcoming and respects her guests' privacy. She's got a great set-up ... we'll definitely be back again.
This was the 2nd stay for Christine, and it was just as much a pleasure as was the 1st visit. Christine is an independent professional person and one that any host would love to have in their home. Clean, quiet, considerate, and caring... all those qualities and more. I hope that Christine manages to reinstate her local contract so that I might have her visit again. Thank you Christine! HIghly recommended.

Christine was a wonderful guest! She communicated well with me before and during her stay which always makes for a pleasant hassel free experience. Christine was so nice and personable. We had several great chats. She left the space perfectly clean! I would happily host her again and would recommend Christine to any potential airbnb host.
