I stayed for two months at Lucia lovely apartment in Venice. Lucia did everything possible to make me feel welcome -- meeting me at the train station, responding promptly to any questions or issues, and even helping to carry my bags to the train station when I was leaving.
The apartment is sunny, comfortable and in a great location -- close to both the bus and train stations, in an area in Santa Croce called Tre Ponte -- three bridges. There is a large supermarket close by (unusual in Venice) and great restaurants, bread shop, dry cleaner, etc. The apartment is on a wide plaza, with trees and flowers and a cafe next door. On Thursdays there is an organic food market, with a cheese vendor and lovely produce. The area is safe, quiet and convenient -- the canal can be seen from the left window in the sunny bedroom. The rio tera is not more than a 15 minute walk to the Rialto or Accademia Bridge but thankfully out of the tourist areas which can be very crowded. Lucia organized wifi, and there was a small charge for additional heating because I stayed for so long in the late winter into spring. I would happily stay in Lucia's apartment again - -and in fact hope to.
Lucia m'a super bien servie. Grazie mille! Louise Guérin
Lucia was a great host and was very helpful during our stay.
She personally met us at the bus terminal and took us to the apartment.
She gave us detailed instructions about the area, the flat and all other basics.
The apartment was really nicely decorated and provided all the basic materials you would need.
The flat, the sheets and towels were very clean.
The apartment is located 30 min away from San Marco Place and very close to Campo Santa MArgharita which a very lively place during day and night.
There is a supermarket and many vegetable stalls nearby which helped for our grocery shopping during our stay.
In general, we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend Lucia's apartment to everyone.
We loved our stay in Lucia's apartment. We arrived by water taxi very close to the apartment and were met by Lucia who welcomed us and walked us to the apartment. She was very helpful and assisted us with a personal matter for which we were very grateful. The apartment is spacious and centrally located - short walk to St Mark's square but away from all the tourists. The view from the apartment is fabulous and wonderful ambiance. Must try the fabulous Pizza shop in the square nearby - don't know name but you will know it as there are always queues of people. We look forward to our return to wonderful Venice and Lucia's apartment.
We were very pleased that we had picked this apartment for our stay in Venice. It is a lovely flat, tastefully decorated with great views.
Lucia met us at the bus station and settled us in when we arrived.
The area is a perfect, away from the very hectic parts of Venice yet busy enough in the evenings to be enjoyable. We found some lovely restaurants within walking distance. I would recommend this as a great place to stay when exploring Venice.
We recently spent a week at Lucia's Canal View Dorsoduro apartment. The apartment is spacious, clean, bright and beautiful. The beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows available. It was nice to have 1.5 baths here. The water pressure in the shower/bath was great and we never ran out of hot water. The kitchen had everything we needed for the week. It was nice to have a washing machine to do laundry at the end of our trip. The laundry machine was easy to use.
The view over Fondamenta Foscarini is beautiful. It's so peaceful and quiet here but you can walk in 2 minutes to Campo Santa Margherita and find lots of cafes and shops.
This apartment is in our favorite neighborhood of Venice - Dorsoduro. There are three Vaporetto stops surrounding the apartment all within a 10 minute walk -San Basilio, Zattere and Ca Rezzonico. Very convenient to get anywhere we needed to be.
Lucia was quick in her responses to me. She offered to meet us at the vaporetto stop and walk us back to the apartment. She also let us extend our stay with short notice.
I was surprised to learn that there is actually an elevator in the building. It came in handy after we shopped.
There is a Punto grocery story nearby in Campo Santa Margherita. It's closer than the Zattere Billa and had everything we needed throughout our week's stay.
The entire experience for me was great. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to visit Venice and have a beautiful, comfortable home base in a quiet yet central area.
Lucia met us on arrival at the bus station which was really helpful. She showed us everything we needed in the apartment and recommended some local restaurants (where we had some excellent food) and supermarkets. The neighbourhood was lovely, quite quiet and the location perfect. The apartment was beautifully decorated and presented.
We enjoyed our stay in Lucia’s apartment. We loved the location in the Dorsoduro area, away from all the tourist traps yet easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, the waterbus and attractions like the Peggy Guggenheim museum. We really felt we were getting a taste of ‘real’ Venice. The apartment was stylish and spacious, well-appointed throughout with a good selection of cooking utensils. There was a slight damp smell, but I suspect this is probably the case in almost all ground floor residences in Venice.
Lucia was really helpful in providing us with directions to the apartment from Piazzale Roma (its only a 10 minute walk, very handy for connections to the airport etc), and her daughter met us to give us the keys and give us a quick orientation around the apartment.
Lucia was so kind to us. She met us at the bus station and walked us to the apartment. She told us about current weather, about the city, where stuff would be, where to find the best grocery. She walked us trough the apartment and made sure we felt fully settled. The neighborhood was perfect for what we wanted. It was right across from the square where the young venetians meet for a night out. We loved the neighborhood.
