I'm an active, semi-retired, professional woman living in Gig Harbor, WA with my husband, also an active and semi-retired professional, and our cat (who is not active and has been "retired" most of his life, except for catching an occasional mouse). We cherish our three adult children and son-in-law.
I like traveling, triathlon training (but not actually doing races!), and photography. I especially love to do environmental portraiture combined with documentary work on maternal-infant health issues. My husband is passionate about his triathlons and writing. We consider ourselves responsible and mature, with a sense of humor.
I've been to Mexico, China, and Mongolia... and plan a trip to Haiti soon. Favorite recent books include: Cutting for Stone, State of Wonder, and anything by Barbara Kingsolver or Garrison Keillor. Music: eclectic... many kinds! Food: mostly vegetarian with fish thrown in.
Life motto: "They can because they think they can" is on my high school ring. Another is by Goethe, ""Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!"
