Both Celeste and Flavia were waiting for us outside the apartment when our taxi arrived. They showed us around the absolutely beautiful apartment, and left instructions how to use certain electronic devices such as the bluetooth speaker.
As for the apartment itself, it could not be in a better location, set in the very traditional Roman neighborhood of Trastevere. Having 2 large bathrooms was very nice and for us, the most important feature having been there in July, was the air conditioning, which worked perfectly.
As other posts mentioned, the apartment is a bit damp/humid when you walk in the door after a day out exploring the city, but as soon as we turned the AC on for about ten minutes, the dampness left the apartment and we were perfectly happy.
I would definitely recommend staying at this apartment, I know we will next time we are back in Roma!
We had an amazing stay at this loft in Trastevere. The loft was BEAUTIFUL (exactly as pictured), with modern furnishings, and very clean. In a great neighborhood, you are a short walk from many fabulous restaurants and only 20 minutes on foot to Centro Storico. You are also very close to the Gianicolo -- I recommend an afternoon hike to the top to take in amazing views of Rome at sunset.
Celeste and Flavia were fantastic hosts -- very responsive and accommodated an early check-in. They provided us with tons of recommendations (restaurants, massage, etc) and the loft has several Italy guidebooks for you to peruse during your stay. I agree that the loft is more suitable for a couple than a group, as the only shower has no door for privacy. The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been a washing machine… But we loved it here, and would definitely stay there again.
Great location, lots of fun in the evening. Easy to get to from airport. Apartment was great. Air conditioning was an advantage in the hot weather. Would definitely go back!
Amazing flat! We really had an incredible experience. Celeste and Flavia were always available, nice and helpful. Definitely would stay again in loft trastevere. 100% recommended :)
Ps: Don't look anywhere else!!
Celeste and Flavia were great hosts! They accommodated our early arrival time and gave us a tour of the house. When I requested a recommendation for dinner, A traditional Roman restaurant, Flavia made a reservation for us and the meal was unbelievable. Trastevere is a great place to stay and this location is perfect. The apartment is better for a couple then a family or two couples because there is no privacy.
Great Area, nice place. You can walk to any spot in Rome
Celeste and Flavia, thank you so much for an incredible stay! You were so helpful and kind and we will always remember our stay at your loft:)
The apartment is very clean and comfortable. We were provided with tons of information and helpful suggestions on Rome and Trastevere. A car was organized for us from the train station upon arrival and to the airport when we sadly had to head home. Both were very stress-free experiences! Trastevere was our absolute favourite area of Rome! So many cute shops and great pubs and restaurants!
Can't wait to visit again someday!
We had a wonderful stay at Celeste & Flavia's Trastevere Loft! The Loft was in the PERFECT location. Trastevere is a wonderful neighborhood, away from the tourists but still close enough (in terms of "close" for Rome!) to walk to many more familiar neighborhoods.
The Loft itself is just as it appears- although there's this cool peek- window to the original stone wall behind the loft that was a surprise (visible in images but not so obvious!) The downstairs bathroom had an awesome shower head. Hot water, COMFY bed (and two FLUFFY pillows each!) plus a dishwasher. I repeat- a dishwasher in Italy!
It was a bit damp in the Loft (I think partly because it's attached to that old stone wall. Plus it's the bottom floor) and the scent was quite overwhelming each time we'd walk in after being gone a few hours. But we'd open the windows & air it out and it would be fine. A humidifier would be a great addition to keep the humidity down.
We had great response from the girls- only really had to reach out once when the wifi went out and they fixed it quickly! And they were helpful with suggestions & recommendations the few times we asked.
We definitely recommend this place & loved our home away from home in Rome!
My wife and I stayed in the Loft Trastevere apartment for nine nights in April/May.
It was a wonderful place for the two of us, but I cannot imagine staying here with another couple or even with our children, there is no privacy inside the apartment.
If you are looking for a place with old-world charm, note that the ambiance here is that of an IKEA showroom. We didn't plan on spending much time in the apartment (and didn't), so that wasn't a big deal for us. On the other hand, the place was very clean and the kitchen well equipped. We found not just a few plates and pots, but enough that we didn't have to run the dishwasher every day. We had plenty of hot water all the time.
We did not find any use for the TV, as there was only Italian-language channels available, no international cable channels. On the other hand, the internet modem worked well most of the time, so we stayed informed via other means than TV.
The apartment is located in a very quiet area of Trastevere, but only minutes from all the evening action around the local piazzas. We felt completely safe around the neighborhood at all times. A three-minute walk took us to the grocery store and, next-door, the best gelateria we found in Rome (huge portions). This part of Trastevere is outside the core of Rome, but it is close enough that you can walk to anything. 25 minutes to Pantheon, 30 to Forum Romanum, 35 to the Piazza Spagna (and that's all the way across town). St Peter's took us 30 minutes to get to.
The apartment looked exactly like the pictures portray it, although it was considerably darker when the window shutters were closed. Since it has a loft layout, the temperature difference between downstairs and upstairs was at times significant. As someone mentioned, it felt slightly damp unless we kept the windows open. The apartment is located on the ground floor (actually about two feet below the street level), which is convenient but gives you zero privacy unless the shutters are closed (and even then, you can see the sleeping area from the street if it's dark outside and the lights are on inside). As we spent only a couple of hours a day in the apartment, we were not too concerned about that, it can be worked around.
Our hosts were very helpful and arranged for a driver to take us from the airport and back. We strongly recommend having your airport transit pre-arranged, it takes a lot of stress out of the situation; it is money well spent.
Celesta & Flavia were just delightful & helped us out with taxis when needed. The apartment was very clean & close to tram and lots of restaurants.Very quite and appears as it is on the website. Would recommend this stay to anyone visiting Rome. Thanks girls
