I'm from the USA...Northern California. I've traveled extensively and lived in several other countries. I love good food, good company and delightful conversations.
Ursala was the perfect host. Helpful with everything, generous and damn fun! She made us feel like we were family returning home. She is joyful, embracing, engaging and a pleasure to spend time with. She was so fun to talk to it was hard to leave her to go out and explore Turkey! Her place was immaculate and when I missed my flight she allowed me to return and stay an additional night.
Ursula is a kind & gracious host. Very helpful. Apt was clean, room was bright & comfortable.
Ursula was very hospitable and kept a clean and quiet apartment. The location is great - 5 or 10 minutes' walk from Taksim - and the room was spacious and comfortable.
I booked Ursula's place for my sister, and had the opportunity to chat with Ursula for a few minutes. The place is immaculate, and is tastefully decorated. Everything is spotlessly clean (and of course, Ursula makes sure you keep it that way!) Ursula herself is a wonderful person, with a kind heart. Thanks Ursula for opening up your home to us.
Ursula hosted my partner and I quite last minute when we were stuck for housing and it was sadly too short of a stay. Ursula has some amazing stories of her travels and I was happy to meet someone so committed to social change and bettering peoples lives. She is trusting of her space and makes room for you. Thanks again!
This was my first trip for an extended time as a solo female traveller in her 60's and my first go on Air BNB. My experience was fabulous. I had a fantastic week in Istanbul and the worst part was packing my bags to leave. Catching the bus to Taksim Square from the airport and walking to Ursula's was very simple. The apartment is exactly as represented and ultra clean. The room was lovely and sunny and I looked forward to my return after wandering around this fabulous city. Ursula was the main contributor to making my stay so wonderful, she is such an incredible human being and we got on like a house on fire. She certainly looked after me way beyond expectation and I know we will stay in touch. It is so safe roaming the streets even in the evenings - which I would hesitate to do in my small country town in Australia. I thought the room was fantastic value price wise and I loved that you could pop downstairs for fresh bread and a kebab! I would definitely stay with Ursula again.
My husband and I just returned from Istanbul, Turkey. Happy we experienced this very nice and clean city, with BEAUTIFUL architecture, cuisine, people and fall weather. Our nice accommodations were located close to where we could connect easily to all areas of this city of 18 million.
My wife and I had a most wonderful experience at Ursula's apartment. The apartment was very confortable, meticulously clean and reasonably priced. The location was excellent, being close to restaurants, cafes and transportation.
Most important was the experience of meeting and getting to know Ursula. She is truly a very special person. Her dedication to helping people in need is very commendable. She is very warm and understanding, and it didn't take long to become good friends. We will never forget the wonderful Turkish breakfast she prepared for us on the first morning.
Ciao Ursula! Speriamo di tornare presto.

We stayed with Ursula from the 6-11 August this year and honestly cannot find fault with any aspect of our stay. Ursula is very hospitable and a really amenable host. We arrived slightly later than planned, and were also forced to extend our stay by an extra day, at very short notice. Fortunately Ursula was kind enough to let us stay on and we were able to enjoy another day in Istanbul. Ursula was really helpful with her leaflets about the area and Turkey in general and provided us with a Turkish breakfast on the first day as well as helpful tips throughout our stay about things such as the Akbil and airport transfers. The room was SPOT-clean and it's clear that Ursula takes pride in her house. We enjoyed listening to Ursula's stories over breakfast/brunch and found her not only open-minded and friendly, but also engaging and affable. We were allowed to treat her home as our home, and never had a curfew or any unreasonable demands from her side. So, all in all, we would really recommend Ursula's as a place to stay. The location is great, in the centre/upmarket area of Beyoglu, close to Istiklal Cd., but far enough that we didn't have to deal with the crowds right outside the door. Basically, Ursula has the hosting down to a T and we couldn't ask for more. So yeh, recommended!
As Ursula will tell you, she is a very clean/tidy person, and has a few (really only a couple) of basic rules to keep her house clean and tidy. This is something she does take seriously and could be a problem for very messy/dirty guests. As for us, we followed the rules and found them very easy to abide by, they were certainly never excessive or constraining.
Ursula and her sister are great people. As she is also an experienced host, we exchanged experiences and obviously she was a great guest. We talked about various subjects and we spend some quality time . I believe if she is still in Istanbul i will stay at her place.
