First of all, he is a very nice person. He would suggest a two-day trip to you when you first arrive at his apartment. Everything you may need during the period was provided by Zen; I did not need to buy those by myself.
Second of all, the location of the apartment is extremely convenient. We can get to Sham Shui Po within 15 mins, or get to Monk Kok within 30 mins.
However, the living environment of the apartment is a little bit below average, just a little bit. The price have already reflected the fact. The room has windows but none of them can be opened, because the hygienic problem. That is not a serious problem for me as I only spent 6-8 hrs on the room everyday and I had a good air-conditioner in my room.
Overall, based on the advantages that I have mentioned above, I like this place for going everywhere in the city. I highly recommend this place to all bag packers who want to discover this attractive city.
Zen was thoughtful in providing everything we needed. In the kitchen there are dishes, an electric kettle and a glass jar for us to store cooled-down boiled water in the fridge (in Hong Kong you have to boil the water before drinking). Hangers, shampoo, soap and hair dryer provided, as well as power extension board that fits US and European plugs. We used the washer and detergent was there too. The smaller bedroom has no A/C but there is a fan and that's sufficient if the other A/Cs in the apartment are turned on. Bathroom is small but that's the way in Hong Kong. The location is excellent if you want to live like a local - you'll find many eateries nearby (dim sum/seafood restaurants, snack places, Hong Kong style cafes, congee, won ton noodles, Chinese bakeries, fresh fruits and veggies), the BBQ pork I bought from the wet market is 10x better than those in the US. Subway is a few minutes' walk away, many bus routes are even closer (Castle Peak Road). Would recommend this place to anyone.
2nd time staying in Zen's Flat. Nothing moe to add than my previous comments:
If you need a place to stay in this very expensive city that is Hong Kong, Zen's flat is a Very good price for value. Zen is very friendly and considerate. Check-in and out are seamless. Location is quite convenient, close to MTR station. If you have never been to Hong Kong, you need to know that flats are usually very small, and a majority of the buildings are old and built 30-50 years ago. We were 3, which is easily accommodated in the flat. The whole flat was clean. The building itself is quite old and not in great shape.
First we arrived a bit late, at midnight and we stop at wrong apartment, it should be B not A, and we shocked when we thought that will be our apartment. But Thankfully, it's not, it's in other building. The building is quite clean and not smell as the A building. When we arrived at apartment it same with the picture. the red sofa was comfort. and We glad that Zen also provide the additional amenities and and some cooking tools that we asked, all are complete. We glad that found it's clean and also the bed is comfortable. The kitchen is clean. But as all apartment in HK, the bathroom is really small, for Asians (average not that tall), it's okay, not sure for a westerner people. Zen was nice to add more blanket to us and even allowed us to late check out! The place is near with MTR and terminal airport bus stop. We love the supermarket beside the apartment. we also buy cheap chocolates for our friends at home. There is also 7/11 there and small restaurants open until midnight and also Mcdonald! During our stay we love the place, and this apartment!
It was very good to stay at Zen's flat. My family stayed 5 nights. 5 adults and a 15 months old baby. There were two bed rooms, and three beds, a double bed in small room, and a single bed and a double bed in other bigger room, and there was a sofa. I slept on a sofa, and the sofa was unexpectedly good to sleep. I liked to sleep on the sofa very much. Necessary articles (soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair dryer, power socket, adapter, furnitures, cloths hanger, kitchen utensils, air conditioner in every rooms and etc) were enough, and there was a laundry machine and a detergent. So we washed clothes and towels. And we cooked simple foods. One thing, there was no window but an air cleaner was much helpful. Wi-Fi speed was good. Many restaurants and super market are around the building, and old markets are near, even a hospital and a McDonald. Price is lower than any other places in Hong Kong. The flat is not impressive but quite ordinary. I love it very much. When we had problems, Zen helped us quickly. There was really no shortage to stay. I went to Hong Kong many times and stayed at many hotels in other places (Chen Wan, Tsim Sha Tsui, Wan Chai, Seung Wan and etc..), but this flat in Sham Shui Po was very impressive to me. It was ordinarily living in Hong Kong rather than travel.

place very suitable near to MTR Cheung Sha Wan also bus stop (Yee Kok Court) ,
supermarket (just down stair), fresh market just at corner, 7eleven, Mcdonals.
The place 100% meets our expectation and highly recommend. We had a group of five and stay in Zen's place for a break to our exploration of MacLehose Trail. The host adjust himself to our timing and met us at 8pm at his place. The room is cozy and well equipped. We found great food shop and dessert shop nearby.
