The location is wonderful. One of my favourite places in North Queensland. The accommodation is pretty basic if you're comparing with something in the city but this is miles from there but clean and tidy and Karen and Drew make a big effort to make you feel welcome.
The bungalow was fine, comfortable, no frills but perfectly adequate and in a great location.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Karen and Drew both helpful and unobtrusive. Location is perfect, with cafe and beach a few steps away across the road. It's an easy drive to all the Daintree sights. Lack of a fridge was a bit challenging but we managed with a block of ice in the provided esky.
This bungalow was in a great location right on the beach front with a handy cafe just opposite for breakfast by the beach. It was a great base for our trip to Cape Trib and the hosts were lovely, thanks for making it a great end to our Australian trip.
Nestled in the heart of the rainforest and naturally adorned with the bird (website hidden)ing and the sound of the ocean wave lapping on the shore. Our experience here was unforgettable! Karen and Drew made our check-in easy and peasy!
We stayed in this beautiful little place for 3 nights. It is nested in the forest and surrounded by a beautiful garden full of flowers and trees. Amazing beach across the road. And plenty of space in the living room. I warmly recommend it!
My husband and I traveled through Australia for three weeks and found that the bungalow was a great place to stay during our visit to the Daintree rainforest. It is clean, well kept, and in the middle of the action between Cape Tribulation and the Daintree River, making it easy to drive from the river to the end of the road.
Drew came by to greet us, answer our questions, and provide us recommendations for places to visit- it was very helpful and we really appreciated it.
The only negative point about the bungalow is that there is no fridge so it makes it hard to keep food. There is a restaurant across the street and a few more within 15 minutes driving, but it would have been nice to be able to keep breakfast food to avoid having to go out for every meal.
Overall, we were very happy at the Thornton Beach Bungalows!
Beautiful spot amongst the rainforest and on the coast. No tv, wifi or mobile coverage at the bungalow - so perfext opportunity to relax and escape. Karen and Drew were quick to provide helpful advice or answer any questions we had. The area felt very safe and secure. You need a car though to get around.
Karen and Drew are great hosts! Drew welcomed us in person when we arrived and Karen helped us sorting out all activities bookings. We will stay at their bungalow again next time we come to cape trib. Highly recommend!
Shane and I thoroughly enjoyed this lil piece o heaven and paradise!
Tucked away in the magical Daintree Forest Karen and Drew's cosy bungalows are perfectly located in the midst of magical Cape Tribulation. Perfect for two nights stay.
We swam at a local water hole, took a lovely stroll on Thornton Beach, enjoyed a game of pool at PJs up the road, loved driving with the roof down drinking in the freshness of the rainforest. So nice to be without wifi and mobile for a few days and just 'being'. (If you need it mobile coverage at beach across road.)
The perfect spot for unwinding before heading back to Sydney.
Ice available across the road and esky and crockery/cutlery provided along with great tourist info and mossie spray.
Karen and Drew were there to give us advice on what to do in the hood and we're looking forward to Jungle Surfing next time and
we'll definitely be back again! Thank you Karen and Drew!
