An amazing spot with the jungle for the garden and the beach just across the road! Easy to find and park, great facilities just up the road, we chose jungle surfing which was fab!
The house is very clean and tidy with airy, open plan living and a great garden to look out onto, a very relaxing time :-)
Although we didn't have the chance to meet Karen, her communication and directions were "spot on". We enjoyed a very peaceful nights rest in the perfectly described bungalow. We were sorry to have to leave a night early.
We loved our time at Karen's. This is a really cosy place, super clean and with all you might need. We enjoyed a couple of wines in the little porch while watching the moon rise through the trees! Couldn't ask for more.
Karen was very, very helpful and flexible with our ever changing travel plans during our stay in the area. She made sure our tight schedule from the airport to a walking tour was accommodated (and booked the tour for us at a discounted price) and allowed us to check in late. She also helped arrange a last minute change to our Port Douglas dive plans due to weather conditions. It was very refreshing to have such welcome help in a country where we had no means of calling/communicating w local guides.
The accommodation was also very lovely. It was like a tree house in the rain forest! When we went to sleep at night, with the windows cracked you could hear the crashing waves on the nearby beach and the sound of a rain during a quick evening shower. Very relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
The bungalow was absolutely fabulous! It was clean and had everything we needed. It was only a few steps from the beach ( which we had to ourselves!) and a wonderful little cafe which does the best brekkies!:) we only stayed one night and so we didn't get to meet the hosts but Karen was very good with communication and left us her phone number in case we needed anything:) I would highly recommend the bungalow and we hope to be back soon for a longer stay!! Thank you :):)
Quiet bungalow with the beach across the road!
Great place to stay near the amazing forest of Cape Tribulation.
Absolutely amazing house, surroundings and hosts. The communication was spot on, and our holiday was more than we could have dreamed of. Would definitely come again. Thanks *****
We found Karen & Drew's bungalow on short notice and it fit our needs perfectly. My husband was worried about no airCon but the fan kept the room cool. Screens on the windows assured us the bugs couldn't get in so not to worry. The bungalow is cozy, but we didn't need anything bigger for one night. Enjoyed the complimentary coffee & tea in the morning, as well as the recently added fridge to keep our food cold. One thing to note is the restaurant across the street doesn't follow their hours during off season if service is slow. We came back from a swim and it was closing down 1.5 hours earlier than advertised. Had to drive maybe 10 minutes south to the nearest open restaurant. A bit higher in price than we planned.
we stayed with Karen in November 2014 and had a great experience. The bungalows are a stone throw away from the beach and a small cafe where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast. A perfect location to explore Cape Tribulation and Daintree National Park.
