Hello, I am a 27 year old Tunisian - American living and working in Tunis for over 2 years now.
Thanks God Alia spoke English. We felt really frustrated in Tunis because we did not speak neither french nor arabic. We got Alia's place by taxi from the port. It took us less than 10 minutes by a taxi (really cheap). The place is a small apartment. The decoration is nice and is four blocks from the tram station. The carrefour is almost in front. Nice experience!!!
The hosts were absolutely amazing (5/5). They spoke only French, but they brought us bread and snacks and periodically checked in on us to make sure everything was OK.
As for the actual unit, there is much left to be desired (2/5). It's a big place but only one room has an air conditioner. With it being so hot, my entire group ended up huddled in one of the two big rooms. Also, the bathroom has no curtain so it's flooded by the time one person finishes showering. Lastly, you would find random bugs and snails along the floors of the kitchen/bathroom which was alarming at first.
Ali and here friend Molka were very nice, clean and respectful. Great guests.
Alia was a great guest! Clean and easy to communicate with. Thanks!
