I didn't see Jill and her husband very much while they stayed with me for the week. I met them when they showed up early for their visit. I spoke with her husband two days prior to their leaving, This review is in part a response to their review of me, as I've never had as much as one complaint, so to have numerous complaints has taken me by surprise. The stairs are a bit steep (house was built that way) and they do have carpet on the stairs, as does the room they stayed in. After they left, I could see why they stated the room had a smell to it, after they left, i went into the room and found wet towels in there, opened food containers, wine bottle, oranges, and other fruit all left for me to pick up, along with an unmade bed. I'm not sure why it was stated as to "no mention of coffee or tea locations" as in my profile there are numerous places listed. They had spent the previous three nights in Savannah, downtown, which has plenty of coffee, tea and breakfast places. Not once did they ask about such a place. And yes, behind the house about 500 feet is HWY 80, but it's buffeted by lots of trees and bushes. And, the home's location is clearly marked when anyone looks for the approximate location of my home. They left one of the two windows in the room open nearly the entire time. The room and house is in no way dark. There was a light on an end table at the bottom of the stairs, a light at the top of the stairs, their room had a ceiling fan and light, along with two night stands with lights on it. The bathroom had 3 lights in it. They stayed 7 nights and had three sets of clean wash clothes and towels. I was disturbed when they used my kitchen, stove, and utensils when those are not options for use. It was an awkward experience with Jill, even prior to their arrival. Jill had wanted to know how to get into the house upon their arrival, and even asked in another email, how they would get into their room.
Jill and Jerry were lovely! Very pleasant guests all the way around. I would recommend them to anyone.
