Small, tidy private room but oh such warm, generous and engaging hosts. Invited me into their home and took great care of me--helping me print out material from net, suggesting places to eat, sharing music and artists, inviting me to join them, on a walk, having a bite to eat. Their personal connection made my stay in Parma a very special one.
This apartment was the perfect location to explore Parma! Erika left us with a map and showed us some of the best sites to see. The bedroom was big. In the morning we were treated to tea and coffee and biscuits with jam. Wonderful place to stay!
I had a great time staying with Erika and Riccardo -- I was only there for one night, but after five minutes in Erika's presence I felt like we had known each other for years. We chatted around the kitchen table and she made some absolutely delicious pasta. Then the next day I was mostly busy out of the house but I got a chance to meet Riccardo, who is also super friendly and generous. The apartment is adorable, clean, and convenient, and I felt right at home. I would love to stay there again if I ever get the chance!
L'apartamento è molto carino, pulito, e comodo, e mi sentivo proprio a casa. Se avessi l'opportunità si starei ancora!
There are no words to describe my experience at La stanza di Ivalù. The house is so cute and clean, the location is perfect, not only is located in the city center, but also in a narrow road, so it is very quiet and perfect for resting. But the best feature of La stanza di Ivalù is Erika and Riccardo! They are simply the best hosts I have ever had! They really take care of you, they are so kind and helpful and always make you feel as if you would be in your own home! I definitely had a great time in Parma, and I hope we can meet again soon :)
Erika and Riccardo were extremely warm hosts. Their house is located quite close to the city centre. We went for a dinner with them and their friends to a local place and had a great time. It was our first experience of booking through airbnb and we realised it is so worthwhile in experiencing the local culture of any place, through the locals.
The bed is not as small as it looks in the picture and is quite comfortable for two. The bathroom was impeccably clean.
Riccardo is not only a fantastic host but also a professional working in gastronomy. He had well planned for us a trip to a Parmesan cheese factory where he accompanied us. The incredible cheese making tour was followed by out of the box sightseeing around the Parma countryside and memorable lunch consisting of local delicacies.
We recommend a visit to Parma and a stay at Erika's place to everyone who wishes to experience a day in the life of an Italian.
It was a great pleasure to stay at Erika's apartment. It is a beautiful old house with a wooden ceilling, wonderful furnitures and it fits just perfectly into the atmosphere of Castellammare. It's located in the heart of this picteresque town. I was greeted by Erika's mom, who is a great person. She showed me around and provided with some useful information.
In this small city everybody knows everobody and you have the impression that they know each other really well. Even I who has been there only for three days have been greeted and talked to people, who I have met the day before. The people here are just great, very friendly, easy going, open-minded, you will make a lot of new friends, of course if you let yourself to do so .. A good tip-you do not have to speak italian to communicate, just use your body :)
I strongly recommend to go to Zingaro while you are there (close to Scopello), Pizzeria Bellavista which is just round the corner (order a pizza called Parma - heaven) , Gellateria on the corner of Via Francesco Crispi and Viale Umberto I and a bar/gellateria Vogue in the port (a really good local band had a concert there during my stay - just ask the locals). If you need a supermarket there are three of them on Via Francesco Crispi
In contrast to what I have heard from my italian friends it is not a problem to travel by public transport in Sicilia. To get to Castellammare from Trapani Airport you need to take a
AST bus to Trapani Autostazione and than a bus to Castellammare (with the same carrier).
To Scopello/Zingaro there is a bus Russo which departs from de Piazza della Repubblica (the same bus stop you get out at when arrive from Trapani) and Piazza Petrolo (only in July and August). Unofrtunately the bus stops in Zingaro only in July and August, otherwise you can just arrive at Scopello and simply walk to Zingaro (about 3 km picteresque walk).
To get to Palermo or any other place in Sicilia you can always use the train. The train station is about 4km from the apartment.
To sum up great place to rest, relax, enjoy and forget about your daily life problems.
Erika's place is very conveniently and centrally located, near several wonderful stores, bars, restaurants, museums, and churches. The room is clean and comfortable, with good wifi. Erika is a sweet, informative, and thoughtful host, and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with her about Parma, Italian culture, and her professional interests in law and education. She kindly served me a continental breakfast.
I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay with her.
Thank you Cyrus for your beautiful words. It was a pleasure to have an so interesting host like you.
I wish you new sources of inspiration for your work here in Italy!
Very good location, nice place and friendly host It all made my stay in Parma great. Thanks Erika
Erika is an accommodating and welcoming host, her apartment is central, light and clean. Our meeting with Ricardo and Erika transformed our experience of Parma and we sincerely hope to return.
great guests! Hey but seriously, I'm talking about friendly people, Erika and her boyfriend Riccardo brought me Parmesan cheese from heart of where this cheese comes from. They were really optimistic and happy people and thats the most important!
Più che un ospite Erika é stata una grande amica. Ospitarla é stato un vero piacere dato che é una persona molto empatica, simpatica e generosa. Inoltre ordinata e ben organizzata.
Erika was more than a guest, basicly a great friend. I really enjoyed hosting her, she's very nice and friendly.
She kept the room very well organized.
Siamo stati molto contenti di ospitare Erika, che è una persona molto simpatica e aperta. E' stato bello chiacchierare con lei e saremmo felici di vederla di nuovo!
