I've traveled fairly extensively in Australia, Asia, and the Middle East, as well as a smidge in Europe. I love to eat local food and 'meet the natives' wherever I am.
I enjoy music both at home and out and about, and have fairly diverse tastes from Leonard Cohen to Faith No More and Janelle Monae and most things in between.
I like to travel a few times a year, which would include at least one decent sized stretch of 2+ weeks (I'm sometimes researching more than one holiday destination simultaneously). I'm not a tightarse, but I do like a bit of bang for buck, which is why Asia has always been a traditional drawcard for me.
I would describe myself as a considerate guest. What I like least about conventional types of accommodation is the excessive level of service, where even if they say they won't change your towel unless you leave it on the bathroom floor, they often do anyway! Bed making is also weird and unnecessary in my view. I reckon as long as a place is clean when you arrive, it's not rocket science to keep it that way yourself for the duration of your stay.
