The house is clean and easy to enjoy. It's a great place to stay to explore the Austin area. Beau is also very efficient at communication.
The house was beyond prefect. The neighborhood is great, our pup Vader loved it when we went for our walks. Super clean and very accommodating. Beau was very gracious and extremely helpful. Highly recommend the home.
Perfect little place to discover Austin. We really enjoyed our stay there. The house has everything you need, super well decorated, and very well situated.
Definitely would recommend this place.
Thank you Beau
Beau's place was amazing!! Excellent location and very nice and comfortable. Beau was also a great host and was very flexible and accommodating.
We had a great stay in this eclectic Austin home!
We spent a couple nights at Beaus place earlier this month. The fantastic reviews prompted us to to try out this space. I'm just going to list the pros and cons of our trip here.
1 - location is fantastic!
2 - place is clean
3 - great book collection
1 - barely any hot water in the bathroom sink.
2 - shower tap was broken and leaking once we arrived. took most of that afternoon to get fixed and sorted.
3 - house has a musty smell possibly from being closed for too long.
All in all, it was just okay. For us, I thought it priced a little high, considering the water issue that we had. To Beau's credit, he was prompt in responding and getting things sorted as quickly as possible.
This was not a good fit for us, but if you're looking for a place in this location, Beau's place will definitely work.
This place is awesome and cozy. Perfect location really close to downtown area and the house is equipped with surround sound speakers! If I ever go back to Austin I'm staying here!
This was our first stay at an (website hidden) home. Having just arrived in Austin we booked and stayed in the Bouldin Cottage for a month while looking for a new home and exploring neighborhoods. Bouldin was a great neighborhood to explore and the house had many conveniences that we needed for our stay, ie, fenced in yard for our dog, a kitchen, laundry, and wifi.
The house itself was a bit crowded with knick knacks and the owners things in and on every surface which made it less comfortable for our longer stay as it would have been nice to put things away during our stay as is normal in a (website hidden).
The owner, Beau, was quick and kind in responding to our questions and issues. All in all, we enjoyed the neighborhood, its restaurants and our dog walks.
The location of this house is perfect. There are tons of great restaurants, shops and other attractions within a mile radius, plus the immediate area is nice for walking. But unlike other VR's I've stayed in, this is clearly someone's home, not a dedicated rental. The closet and drawers have clothes in them, there are prescription meds and hypodermics in the fridge, and the decor is pretty specific. There are more decorations than the pictures in the ad reflect -- masks, antlers, taxidermy, and lots of collectibles. I found it kind of extreme for a VR, but judging by the other reviews, most people like it.
As another reviewer mentioned, there's no microwave or dishwasher. Also, no toaster or blender, and the coffee maker is a Chemex. There are a washer and dryer in a room outside the kitchen door. There's an attic apartment upstairs, but most of the time I was there, no one was up there. The screen door was REALLY creaky, so loud I thought it would bother the neighbors, but I put some WD-40 on it, and the creaking stopped. I stayed there during a cold week, and on the third night, the heater stopped working. It was a holiday, so the repairman didn't show up for two more days. I borrowed some space heaters and plugged them in, which eventually tripped a breaker, so there was no power in two rooms. I told Beau about this, and he gave some suggestions about how to get the power back on, which I was able to do, but the space heaters kept tripping the breaker, so I had to keep flipping the switch on the panel during the three nights the central heat wasn't working.
Beau does have a very generous pet policy -- he let me have a dog visit during my stay without an extra deposit, as long as I picked up after her in the backyard. Overall this house has some quirks, but as someone who is from Austin and has also stayed in a lot of VR's there, I think you can't beat the location, and the price is pretty good for the area.
We stayed here a month and loved it!
The cottage is very pretty, and nicely appointed with good A/C and heat, a great bed, and awesome bathroom. The decor is super cool and stylish, blending modern design with dark americana and psychedelic cowboys and indians. Really great! Only thing to watch out for is that the kitchen is minimally equipped. No microwave, no toaster, no dishwasher. It does have a big double sink and a good gas stove.
Beau is super cool and helpful. Here's a story: Somehow the smoke alarm went off, and he got an alert on his phone. He called right away to check in, and the FIRST thing he asked was "Are you ok?" He didn't ask about his house until he had made sure we were safe and secure.
The neighborhood is super hip and colorful. Awesome cafes and food trucks and boutiques and restaurants within a few blocks. It's the place to be.
Beau was a perfect guest. Very communicative and flexible, and he left the apartment extremely clean. I would highly recommend him.
While I didn't get a chance to meet Beau in person, he was a very quiet guest and he left the apartment absolutely immaculate! He is welcome back anytime.
Beau was cordial and polite. Though appeared plans changed he took the responsibility to lined up other guests who were just fine. Non issue for me
Beau Leboeuf seems like a good guy. I mean, look at his picture! Friday night just wasn't the same without him. If he ever needed to rent my place again I would definitely let him.
Beau was a wonderful guest! He left my loft in great, great shape. We had a small chance to chat about being hosts he seems like a great guy. Down to earth and considerate, your lucky if he rents your place out he's a wonderful guest. Thanks for staying Beau hope you come back the next time your in town! I'll check out your lovely place the next time I am in Austin!
I have known Beau for over 10 years and I have to say I feel very lucky and fortunate to call him a friend. He is a responsible, trustworthy, full of good times friend who can make the sun shine on a gloomy day. You are sure to have a wonderful stay in Austin at his cottage! Enjoy!
