Pavel es una persona muy amable, siempre atento por si se nos ofrecía algo.
Had a great time at the Paraiso. Pavel is a really nice and friendly guy and a very hospitable host
The house is simple, cosy and mosquito free (yeah!). We liked the location: you're not disturbed by people and a lot of nature, close to the beach (the sea can be wild). It's very close to the village of Puerto Viejo. This village has a lot of charm and the atmosphere is great. The house is a good base for many places: Manzanillo (you shouldn't miss it), Cahuita (the village is less attractive than Puerto Viejo), national park of Cahuita (is overrated), the Jaguar Rescue Center, Finca la Isla botanical garden, close to Nicaragua, mountains. Manzanillo is a must see! It's a paradise at the Caribbean coast: the beaches, the rainforest (more beautiful than Cahuita) and the atmosphere. We loved the region: it's the most beautiful we've seen at the Caribbean coast (we didn't see Tortuguerro). And last but not least: Pavel is a real nice guy, very fit, full of experience and gave us a lot of tips. He's nice to talk to. And nice dogs :)
Pavel is one of the coolest old guys I've met. His property is beautiful, and its footsteps from the ocean, you have your own private beach for about a km each direction. It is "rustic" but with all the necessary means, and that's what we were looking for on that coast. Its a few kms out of town, handy if you have a car,but nice if you want to come in grab some groceries, some cervasez's and retreat back to you own private getaway. Pavel is there for anything you need and helpful for any info for sites or knowledge of the town, but also giving you your own space while you visit. I recommend staying at Paraiso Bohemio for your stay at Puerto Viejo.Pura Vida!
As most of these reviews mention, Pavel is a great host. He knows the area and was helpful in giving us guidance to places we wanted to go and things we wanted to see. Also enjoyed just sitting and chatting with him. This place is right on the ocean, but a bit of a ways from the main road. We did find renting bicycles to be very helpful. The bungalow provides for very basic needs--nothing fancy, but you can cook, relax, etc.
Pavel is a great Host! My friends and I were well in his accomodations. If you want to wake up to the sound of the sea and (email hidden)at is the right place. Wi-fi is basic but...THERE IS NOT WIFI IN IN FOREST BUT I'M SURE THAT U WILL FIND A BETTER CONNECTION!
I must state very simple fact with fantastic people it is a great pleasure hosting them
Pavel was an incredible host! He was very kind, funny, and relaxed. The houses we stayed at were very comfortable and literally right across the street from the beach. The property was a bit off the beaten path and we had some trouble finding taxis that would take us there, but Pavel was very helpful in getting us the number of taxis with 4 wheel drive.
Pavel was a great host. Very friendly and extremely hospitable. The house is in an excellent location right on the beach and in the jungle! Perfect getaway
Pavel is the nicest airbnb hosts I've ever had (which is saying something as everyone has been lovely so far). He really went above and beyond in helping me feel safe and connected during my stay.
The place is rather out of town - not an impossible walk (6km each way), a quick cab ride and a very doable cycle ride. I came down to work quietly - but Pavel was kind enough to let me ride into town with him a few times. And he also collected me from the bus from San Jose.
His house is behind this one and there are others on the property. All are simple places with lots of screens. This one has a wide deck that functions as a living room with views of the Caribbean Sea. I looked very hard in Costa Rica and this is definitely the closest view I could get of the ocean from an airbnb...
It's a basic place, but has all the comforts you'll need if you're not expecting fancy. Do bring lots of heavy duty bug repellent as even with screens this area is known as the 'mosquito coast' and I was quite badly bitten despite wearing bug spray all the time.
You're minutes from the beach and the dawn is gorgeous on the clean long sweep of sand that runs into Puerto Veijo in one direction and into a National Park int he other.
If you want to live quietly, near the beach and get away from it all - this place will be perfect. And you'll benefit from the warmth of such a wonderful host as Pavel
