Danish native, I live in Rhodes since 1990.
Mother of two grown up kids, easygoing, quiet, enjoy taking care of the premises and looking after my guests, son, dog(s) & cat, available & reliable, life is how you make it.
Rhodes Old Town is a wonderful maze of confusing narrow alleyways that twist and turn in an attempt to get you lost and it's quite an experience to stay a few nights in the middle of it. Now you could choose one of the 3 or 4 pretty boutique hotels that do look very nice but if you really want to experience what it's really like living in this marvellous place you should look no further than Anne's place. It's hidden away down one of those alleyways and doesn't seem to even have an address but does have two cute little rooms plus kitchen and toilet and a table and chairs under the lemon tree in the patio for a quiet read or for breakfast. And the best bit is that the very pleasant host, Anne, meets you off the airport bus and takes you on a crazy journey through this fascinating maze on the back of her scooter. Magic.
great location, friendly host, everything you need for a pleasant stay in wonderful Rhodes!
In the heart of a medieval city, inside the fortress walls we set up camp at Anne's. Dark and mysterious cobbled streets led to more of the same in all directions. We absolutely loved our experience here and found Anne's place to be exactly the local experience we were looking for.
Can´t wait to come back! Anne and the dogs are so lovely, so welcoming! We loved to have fresh fruits for breakfast under the lemon tree. The location is just perfect and the room, with kitchen and bathroom, is clean and very peaceful. Wish my husband and I could spend a whole month in this paradise.. Thank you very much for everything Anne!
We (couple) stayed for four nights with Anne and it was the most peaceful holiday I have ever had!
Anne has provided you with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday and the location is incredible - right in the heart of the Old Town, you won't want to leave.
It's small - but perfectly formed.
We had great time! Location is very convenient - in the heart of Rhodes Old Town. We stayed in Anne's apartment for 11 days. It was peaceful but interesting vacation.
Anne was really kind and hospitable and helped us with all our problems. And her dogs were adorable and friendly. :)
We'd definitely recommend Anne's guest house if you're going to visit Rhodes Town.
We (2 female friends, 29yrs) had an amazing time at Iben's charming guesthouse. We take a summer holiday most years and are constantly looking for self-catering properties that are a bit different, with character, history, charm, privacy and convenience - this 100% delivered! As others have said, it's located bang in the heart of the Old Town; an incredible maze of medieval streets - a bumpy ride for your wheely case! We explored everywhere from here without transport - walks all over the Old Town, including to the main shopping streets and Knights Avenue - home to lots of sightseeing hotspots; boat trips from the harbours; walks out into the new town (not very nice unfortunately); the red bus tour (again, pretty disappointing); restaurants and bars in the evening (all well lit and feel safe). The guesthouse is cosily small, a small kitchen, bathroom, and the two bedrooms were perfect for us, though they're open to each other, so wouldn't offer much privacy if you need it. The outdoor space was great and we sat out most nights drinking, eating and chatting. Iben very kindly stocked the fridge with lots of bits before we came which was great as we arrived in the evening. She was on hand with lots of tips and was really friendly and welcoming - as were her dogs! Another girl lives in the same "compound" of Iben's house and the guesthouse, who is also very friendly. The guesthouse is just off in a tiny side street and once you're behind the door that leads up a few steps to the compound, you feel really away from it all, quiet and safe. Some of the best sleep I've had in years! Thoroughly recommended, as is the Marco Polo restaurant next door which Iben recommended - a great last night's meal! Thanks so much, Charlie and Lucy xx
We had a very pleasant time at Anna’s. Lovely courtyard under the lemon tree! The property is very cozy, with nice breezes, plenty of hot water, and right in the middle of Old Town. Anna fixed us up with provisions for a couple of days when we first arrived. When we took a over-night trip to Lindos she watched our big bag so we didn’t have to drag it over the island. We will definitely stay again.
This small apartment in the center of the old town is great! Anne are wonderful, responsive and friendly. Terrace with lemon tree is super! The 5 days in Rhodes were perfect. Thank you, Annе. If we go to Rhodes, we will be happy to stay from Anne and her wonderful dogs :)
Anne's place is a gem in that, while being smack in the centre of the old town, it still is in the non-touristy area. She was very helpful in showing us around the old city and suggesting restaurants, and beaches etc. She also kindly left some food for us in the fridge which was great breakfast material! :)
