A friend and I were going to Boston for a baby shower. Neither of us had used Airbnb before but thought we'd give it a try. We found Eluz's place and it looked great- perfect location, close to the shower, and a decent price. All communication leading up to the trip was great and she was very understanding when we arrived much later then planned due to bus issues. She had a friend of hers waiting at the apartment to let us in and give us keys. The apartment was nice enough and pretty clean although there was a strong cat litter odor in the hallway . We both have cats so that didn't bother us much. The room itself was fine, very sparsely furnished but it had the basics, however it was like walking into a sauna! I should say we were there at the end of a heat wave and I understand it didn't say anything about AC but the only fans in the room were a small floor fan and an even smaller Fabreze fan on the desk that did nothing but fill the room with a sickening artificial smell. We had to take the cartridge out as well as the Fabreze plug in as they were so strong it was nauseating. After traveling all day, we just wanted to shower and go to dinner. That was when we found there were no clean towels in the house. I text Eluz to ask her and she said she was doing laundry at her boyfriends house and could bring us some the next day. This seemed extremely odd that there were no towels provided. The ad did not specify that we had to bring our own towels. I also asked if there was anything we could do about the temperature in the room and her only response was "I'm sorry about that". I know it wasn't her fault it was so hot out but we are paying to stay in a space that does not provide towels to shower or a room that is inhabitable? Her roommate has an AC and the empty bedroom(that her ad said that she stays in) at least has a box fan in the window. She offered no solution to either problem. Seems like if no one was in the small room, she could've offered us the box fan. We had to shower and drip-dry in the bathroom. She said she would be by in the morning with towels so we could shower. I let her know that we had to be out of the house by 9, so asked that she come by 8. She showed up at 9:10 with barely an apology. She complained about having to come from her boyfriend's place in Cambridge. My friend and I are both professionals working in the hospitality industry. If someone is paying you for a service, you should at least provide the minimum of what you are paying for. Eluz did not provided...

I stayed at this apartment for about 2 weeks or so. Eluz was very friendly and allowed me to stay at her place on very short notice, which was great!
The apartment was in great shape, very clean, and the room was quite large. It's located in a safe area in JP, but is a bit far if you're planning on commuting each morning/evening to work in Boston.
The only down side to this place was the cat. I hate to say it! Dexter is a very cute, affectionate cat, but he does tend to meow quite a bit very early in the morning, which was frustrating at times. And also, there were days when the hallway of the apartment smelt badly of cat litter, which is a shame. Besides that, the place is great!
Eluz's roommate, Carolina, was very nice as well. I actually only met Eluz once, and had much more interaction with Carolina. She was very friendly and happy to help with anything.
Overall, I would recommend this place, it worked out very well for me. Thanks Eluz and Carolina!
Eluz was friendly, courteous and prompt to respond to all of my texts and emails. This location is convenient to Boston's subway "T" and local coffee shops and eateries. The bedroom was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom door had to be left open because the door knob was broken, but apparently it was just a temporary thing. Also the cat is friendly but will randomly and somewhat hilariously try to attack your ankles, so watch out! Overall a great experience. I would be happy to recommend this location for your stay in JP/Boston.
My first experience using airbnb. Eluz and Carolina (housemate) have been a great help with my move to Boston. Helping me get around, giving much needed advice and taking me around town. Very friendly, kind people. The room is very clean and you'll have plenty of space. The house is less than 10 minutes walk to the T station, and on a main well lit road. No complaints, overall an excellent experience.
Eluz was quick to respond and very accommodating. She offered to help with any questions and was always accessible. I didn't meet her but her housemate was great with helping out with checking in, etc. and was very friendly. The place and bedroom were great - clean, spacious and just a few blocks from the train line. Had a great experience.
eluz was an awesome guest! clean, quiet, considerate. you're welcome back any time! thanks for being a great guest!!!
