Buen rollo en la casa...
Muchas gracias por todo! :) The room and barhroom were really nice and tidy and the atmosphere at the whole apartment was really nice and relaxed. We enjoyed our stay a lot, the location couldn't had been better, I can really recommend this for all those who are used to travel and share apartment with others. Muy amable! :)
Amazing location in an amazing city. Central to eating, bars & both beaches, it really does not get better than this. Spacious and safe bedroom & bath in a historical building. Would definitely return and stay for longer. Thanks Evan!
Really great location and nice and flexible re: check in and check out. Our double room was fairly basic for the price I think so I probably would have expected a bit more in that regard. Also our room was right beside the kitchen so getting a sleep in was hard!
Evan and Tipi are very nice and friendly.
The room was in an excellent location, very close to the different beaches and the old town. The apartment was big and had a couple of bathrooms and a huge kitchen, so I was never waiting to use either of those. The host was lovely and helpful. The room itself was big enough for me. only thing was that there are two lamps for light in the room and I didn't find it to be quite enough. I enjoyed my stay!
Me and my girlfriend went to San Sebastian, in august, and stayed at Tipi & Evan's House. It was amazing!
Evan was a great host. She was professional and gave us space but when asked for tips on where to go etc she was personal, helpful and charming. It was really nice to get tips on which pintxos bar to go to when there are hundreds of them.
She also helped us out with surfboard rental, giving us the best price (5€ cheaper/day) and the most flexibility. She even let us keep the boards in our room, for us to use when we felt like it, trusting that we would let her know how much we used them and pay for that time.
Tha location really couldn't be better. 5 minute board walk to Zurriola baech (surf). 2 min walk to the old town. 15-20 min walk to La concha beach. Our ensuite room was nice and spacious. A beautiful balcony looking out on the boulevard! Big bathroom including shower, bath tub, and toilet. King size bed. More wardrobe space than we had use for. The common living room was nice and free to use, also with a nice balcony, housing two small turtles, facing the boulevard. The kitchen was big and clean (including washing machine), with enough space for everyone.
All in all, a great airbnb experience!
We loved our stay in San Sebastián. Nothing to complain about with a lovely balcony and helpful hosts. We got to leave our bags after check-out as we waited for a late train. Would definitely recommend this!
I stayed at 'Tipi & Evan's House' for 7 nights during La Semana Grande. The house is actually an apartment which is very centrally located in the middle of San Sebastian, less than 50 meters from the Zurriola Bridge. This makes it the perfect location to access both Zurriola and La Concha beaches, the old town and Mt Urgull.
The apartment consists of 5 rooms which were far more spacious than I anticipated. The host, Eva, lives in one room and rents out the other rooms which were either singles or doubles, one of which has its own en suite with the rest sharing a communal bathroom. I stayed in a single room which was basic but had plenty of space and a reasonably comfortable bed.The communal bathroom was exceptionally clean as Eva made the effort to clean it on a daily basis.
The flat has a very large and well equipped kitchen with plenty of fridge space and a washing machine which you are free to use. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large dining area and small balcony and at the other end of the apartment is a television and lounge area.
Eva is a fantastic host and even though her English is not perfect (my Spanish is almost non-existent), she made a big effort to point out the best sights and beaches to help me mavigate my way around when I first arrived. Along with her good friend Mar, she even took me and a friend who was staying elsewhere on a tour of some of the better and more local pintxo bars.
Overall this apartment was perfect place to stay during my week in San Sebastian!
*Evan, the owner, was very sweet but was rarely there since she also manages a hostel down the street (which is not this property)
*Location - right in the middle of a great part of the town, short walk to everything and nice view out the living room window
Let me say that once upon a time I was a backpacker and have stayed in many pensions/hostels. This one is probably the nicest physcial property in a posh, central locale, but the standards of cleanliness and responsiveness did not match the $137 US that we payed before AirBNB fees!! I am not an anal person whatsoever, but this was a disaster.
* Not properly advertised, specifically, the breakfast is not served at that location (which should have been stated) She does, however, offer breakfast down the street at the hotel she also manages.
*There 2 bathrooms but only one has a shower that appears to be shared for about 5 of the rental rooms. There was another room rented with an attached bathroom but those guests also used the common bathrooms, sometimes leaving no shower available. There was black mold in the corners of the shower available to us.
*The bathroom with a shower had no toilet paper. There was however a very large ballpark style roll in the single toilet bathroom, leaving that one bathroom with none. I looked high and low, then called the owner, Evan, who showed up about 10 hours later with a roll that she just left on top of the dispenser, not even bothering to put it on.
*The noise is intense, but other posters have noted that so I can't fault the owners (and we did stay during a festival week), just bring earplugs if you intend to sleep because with the multiple bedrooms, guests come in and out at all hours of the night.
*The refrigerator had a very bad odor. There was meat out of containers sitting there for days. I let the owner know that it was this way and someone did clean the kitchen but no removal of the rancid food. I know San Sebastian is a destination for eating out, but after two weeks in Spain we were really craving a home-cooked meal.
*There were fist-sized hairballs in our room and the living room.
*The decor was described as "Chill" which means a random assortment of furniture, some modern, some older and showing significant wear.
We stayed at Tipi and Evan's house for 2 nights and could not fault the room at all. It was in the most perfect, central location. Close to the Old town and only a short walk from both beaches. Our room was very large with a balcony and private bathroom. We only got to meet Tipi, but she was so helpful and accommodating and she provided us with lots of recomendations. Would most definitely stay here again!!
The Best Location. Indeed. Especially the room in the front. A spacious double room with own bathroom. Nice view on the street. Good WiFi connection.
