Relaxed, Clean, Organized and very much like to laugh!
Although, I only met Taryn briefly I would be cautious to rent to her again.
Let me elaborate . . . She rented my space on behalf of her parents, and when they arrived they thanked and complimented me on the space and were looking forward to their stay. I gave them all a tour of the apartment, asked them to give me a call if they had any questions or should they need anything - with that I asked for the cleaning fee that was due at check-in. Note, that fee is on my listings page and I also include that information on my e-mail to the guest, prior to their booking. Taryn stated that she had thought it was included and she would pay it if it were due - I have yet to hear back from her on payment!
In addition, instead of e-mailing me with any concerns she or her folks may have had during their brief stay, Taryn just went ahead and gave a negative review. It's a shame that she didn't take the time to reach out to me with them first, as I would have been happy to address them directly. Hence, my hesitation to ever rent to her again.
In response to her misrepresentaion of my apartment and to clarify: The major hike to the subway she mentions (5 blocks) is clearly stated in my e-mail - prior to booking. Her statement, ' there's literally nothing around in terms of coffee, deli, grocery, etc...' is TOTALLY FALSE! There is a deli/grocery store just 30 feet away from the front door of the townhouse. There is a quaint coffeehouse 'Black Gold', just 2 1/2 blocks away and 'Brooklyn Bread Cafe', just 3 blocks away. Plus, the main thoroughfare of the neighborhood - Court Street, is just 2 blocks away - with every amenity one would need - Food Markets, Restaurants, Dry Cleaners, Laundromat, Pharmacy, Hardware Store, etc... And although the apartment is 1/2 block away to the BQE, it is not under it and as a courtesy I provide a sound conditioner to help with the noise. The airconditioners she mentions are only a year old and the mattresses are less than 6 months old. The apartments furniture does have some antiques, which yes are old - but nonetheless admired by most and considered conversational. The fabrics are silk and cotton blend and I have never gotten a complaint as to there comfort. As far as religious paraphernalia - we have an antique statue of a buddha and a antique sculpture of a face - nothing to insult - just art to be enjoyed! Art that was moved and put away, so much so that I have yet to find my Antique Buddha.
That said . . . I would hope that in the future Taryn would have the courtesy to reach out to the host prior to writing derogatory statements that are misleading and insensitive at best!
