I am a gay guy. Love to travel with my husband to interesting places to discover local culture - especially cuisine.

This lovely cabin was everything we expected and more. Great location in one of the most beautiful parts of Vermont, just around the corner from the Camel's Hump trailhead. The place is simple but well built and comfortable. Wonderful kitchen for cooking and socializing, great front porch with a fabulous hot tub and and all-around cozy and comfortable space. Lots of little touches, like the hotel-style soaps and "How to make a fire" DVD make it a super easy and relaxing overall experience. Highly recommend!
Steven was very responsive to both text and emails. The house was very cozy and clean. I was particularly impressed with the bed linens. They were very comfortable an clean. While this is definitely a cabin in the woods, Steven provides unique and classy components that make your stay in Huntington both relaxing and memorable.
Stayed at the cabin with my wife and our dog over Memorial Day weekend. Everything in the cabin was as described. Excellent location, very private/secluded, but still roughly only 40 minutes to Burlington, and a very short drive to Camel's Hump for some great hiking. Also very near Richmond, which is small but has a couple of nice little restaurants and a larger grocery store than Beaudry's in Huntington. As a few people have said, the cabin is bigger than you might expect - you certainly wouldn't have any issues sleeping 8-10 people here (probably even more). Weather was good, so we didn't need to fire up the stove, but did use the hot tub and it was fantastic. Overall our stay was great, would definitely visit again, and would recommend without reservation.
Had a wonderful time at Steve's cabin. Loved the hot tub and the seclusion, and my daughter's hound dog absolutely loved the freedom it provided (neither my daughter nor her dog really wanted to go back to her apartment in Burlington). The wood stove and the wood-fired hot tub were both easy to start, and Steve left excellent instructions for both. Place is a lot bigger than it looks in the photo's and can comfortably sleep 7, although bear in mind it has only a single bath. We used the kitchen extensively and everything was in good working order (except for the toaster which I understand is going to be replaced). If you are going to cook a lot, you will need to bring your own spices as there was only salt and pepper in stock. If you are planning on doing your grocery shopping when you get here, note that Boudrey's (~6 miles away) closes at 6 and Richmond Market (13 miles) closes at 8 (with got there the first night with only 5 minutes to spare). Dining out requires a drive, but we found an absolute gem in Richmond. Would highly recommend Tuscano's! You may need a reservation on weekends, when we went it was packed.
The cabin was exactly what we had hoped for. While not entirely remote -- there are neighbors a 100 yards or so away -- we felt like we had the surrounding woods to ourselves. Prior to the trip, we thought that the wood-fired hot tub was fun novelty but it turned out to be one of the highlights of the place. More functionally, the beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and we arrived to a clean and very comfortable cabin.
Lastly, Steve was very responsive throughout the process. Overall, I recommend staying here.
Wonderful accommodations for my parents who were visiting for my wedding. Roads and locale are certainly not for city folk but hey this is rural VT!
We enjoy the place because we were near Camel's Hump mountain to do cross country sking and trekking.
The house was big enough for 5 people (2 couples and 1 single) and the kitchen fully equiped (more than mine in Montreal !)
Steven was a great guest and it was easy to communicate with him.
To buy some food and booze, it is better to go to Richmond supermarket instead of the little store call "Beaudry's" (more choice)
This was a nice house, but I wouldn't advertise it as an ideal girlfriends' weekend away.
The house had highs and lows. First, Steven was great and responsive, and the house was large and spacious.
The kitchen was GREAT! Fully stocked with enough utensils, pots, pans, and gizmos to make everything you'd want. No wine glasses, but there were nice martini glasses.
However, though the wood stove is lovely, it only adequately heated the living room during the winter months (some of us had grown up in houses with wood stoves, so it was being properly used). There was a space heater in two of the rooms, which were great. We think there should be a few more of those around. There was PLENTY of fresh cut wood, though the logs were HUGE and tough to light.
The furniture was plentiful, but run down. And, after removing a blanket from the couch, we found the couch was held together by duct tape, and the stuffing was coming out...EEK! The duvet cover in one of the bedrooms had dog fur on it, which could be troublesome if you're allergic.
Lastly, be warned that though there is a TV, there is no cable. There was an Apple TV and good wifi. No cell reception.
This house provided a nice getaway for us; we had a great time... it was just a different time than we had pictured.
Steven was a great host and apartment was clean and nice. We had a great time! Location was also great and homestreet very cosy. Steven was very helpful and I higly recommend this place for everyone. (:
We had a great time gathering the family for Christmas! The house accommodated our every need. The wood stove kept us cozy and the kitchen kept us well feed. It was relaxing - the property is accurately described on airbnb. Everything was ready when we arrived and we had everything we needed (including plenty of wood for the stove) for an enjoyable stay. Thanks especially to our host for making our dogs welcome - they enjoyed the experience too.
This was our first experience with airbnb. We found the registration and reservation process to be simple, appropriate and fast. Our host corresponded quickly so we were able to get everything set up in short order.
Steven was a great guest who left the apartment clean & tidy. Communication was excellent before arrival. Happy to host Steven & his partner anytime!
It was a real pleasure to host Steven and his new spouse. They were delightful, generous and very pleasant guests. I would happily welcome them back.
Steven and I have been friends for over 10 years. In addition to being full of laughs, he's a busy professional, a long-time vegetarian, a world traveler, and a true humanitarian. I've stayed at his homes in Vermont & New York & I can highly recommend both -- Steven is committed to ensuring his Airbnb guests' satisfaction! He's also been a generous and thoughtful guest in my home. I recommend him without reservations!
