Tremendous cabin in a beautiful area. Exceeded expectations. Stove fired hot tub requires some TLC to get going but is worth every minute of work once it's hot. Steven is very responsive and helpful.
If planning to use the cabin for skiing at sugarbush, understand you will be climbing over a mountain to get there. 4wd!
A small group of 4 booked this for a ski trip at Jay peak. The house is exactly as listed. If you are not willing to get a little dirty or can't take a little dust then, as stated by the owner, look elsewhere. Pictures did not do the property justice, the house is much larger then it looks. The house info book was very helpful and clearly written. It explained how to operate everything safely. 4x4 or awd with good tires is very important if you are visiting this property during the winter. Trust me! The wifi worked great and the guest book was nice to flip through and sign. Overall I would recommend and would consider booking again for a future trip.
Steven was very prompt in his responses. Any questions I had were answered quickly, without leaving me hanging. All directions and house instructions were very explicit, and the house was just the right mix of rustic and modern. The Vermont house made us all feel very much at home, and all of us were very comfortable.
We went during mid-winter. Snow covered everything, and made everything beautiful. When in the house, we rarely left the company of the stove! We used the opportunity to snowshoe (Camel's Hump - 10 minutes) and ski (Sugarbush - 25 minutes).
The house was just what we wanted for a winter weekend getaway!
We had a great time at Steven's house. Everything was well explained and accurate in his original message to me. Once we got to the house, the guest information book was there to answer any other questions we had about the place. The location is secluded enough in order to not disturb or be disturbed by anyone else. The closest house being a few hundred yards down the road. The hot tub was great once it got warm. Though it did take about 7 hours to get from 40° to 80°. Once it was up to temperature, it stayed there and got even hotter. We had to get out in fact. It was still 80° over 12 hours later. So it does keep temperature very well. Despite that, we had an enjoyable time. The wood stove kept the house warm enough in the 20° temps and below we experienced the entire time there. Check out was easy. The checklist was provided had basic items like trash removal, linens removal and basic cleanup. And then call the housekeeper and leave a message to let her know we were out of the house. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a place to get away from busy city life for a while. Very quiet and quaint.
We loved our stay in this wonderful cabin. The house was a lot bigger than we've imagined and very comfortable. The kitchen was great, with everything needed. The house was very private but at the same time very close to the slopes or town. We will definitely come back. Thank you Steven!
True to its description, this house is private, private, private. If you want to stay in a funky little house with a great kitchen for gathering, this is the a great choice for you.
Our stay at Steven's house was extremely relaxing and just what we needed. The house is very comfortable and has everything you would need for a quick (or extended) escape to the Vermont woods. It's also not far to Burlington which makes a day trip extremely easy. Will hopefully return soon for some skiing. Thanks Steven!
Great homey place in rural Vermont to get away from the hustle and bustle! There were great instructions left for everything so no question was left unanswered. Hot tub is fantastic as all previous reviews have said. Beds were very comfortable and the scenery was beautiful as well. We even got a couple of surprise visiting deer when we woke up one morning. What a perfect end to our Vermont road trip. Thanks for the hospitality!
Thanks for being such a great guest. Sarah Jane gave you 5 stars! I'm so glad you enjoyed and appreciated the place.
We had an excellent time and have rave reviews about the house. It was very comfy and an enjoyable place to spend out vacation. We would highly recommend renting from Steven! The hot tub was our favorite part.
This lovely cabin was everything we expected and more. Great location in one of the most beautiful parts of Vermont, just around the corner from the Camel's Hump trailhead. The place is simple but well built and comfortable. Wonderful kitchen for cooking and socializing, great front porch with a fabulous hot tub and and all-around cozy and comfortable space. Lots of little touches, like the hotel-style soaps and "How to make a fire" DVD make it a super easy and relaxing overall experience. Highly recommend!
Steve was the perfect guest. Would love to have him stay again anytime he likes. Left the house exactly how he found it. Nothing but good things about Steven.
Very nice guests :-))
Steven was a great guest who left the apartment clean & tidy. Communication was excellent before arrival. Happy to host Steven & his partner anytime!
It was a real pleasure to host Steven and his new spouse. They were delightful, generous and very pleasant guests. I would happily welcome them back.
Steven and I have been friends for over 10 years. In addition to being full of laughs, he's a busy professional, a long-time vegetarian, a world traveler, and a true humanitarian. I've stayed at his homes in Vermont & New York & I can highly recommend both -- Steven is committed to ensuring his Airbnb guests' satisfaction! He's also been a generous and thoughtful guest in my home. I recommend him without reservations!
