Robert was quick to reply and communicate with us regarding any queries we had. The property was very cute and cozy with a vintage modern feel. We felt like we were in our own little world when we used the hot tub...which was very well maintained. There are also nice modern appliances on property ( washer, dryer, dishwasher). We were located about 10 mins drive away from 6th Street and used the App Lyft to get to and from with ease. Considering the SXSW festival was going on... we got a really competitive price compared to hotels in the area... We both agreed that we would definitely stay here when and if we are were in town again. There were beers and water in the fridge, some gourmet popcorn and also a recent issue of a fashion magazine which was a nice touch. Highly recommended! This was actually our first ever experience with Air Bnb and now we are hooked! We are looking into using Air BnB for our upcoming honeymoon in Hawaii because we enjoyed the unique space and overall experience.
We had an incredible stay at Robert's gorgeous home in The Bywater!! The building is beautifully restored, massive and filled with wonderful antique furniture. The neighborhood is fantastic. There are terrific bars, cafes, restaurants, etc. within blocks, and it's also a really fun walk down to the French Quarter (30-45 mins walk). Cannot recommend Robert's home enough! Stay here!
Loved Robert place on the East side of Austin!! Robert was prompt in responding to my requests and the little house truly is outfitted with everything you need. Location is key in Austin due to traffic. We got from his house to S. Congress in less than a half hour at rush hour! Bars and restaurants are great on the East side. Loved the hot tub and the little kitchen has it all! I forgot how much I enjoy French press coffee! Stay here. It's perfect!
We had a wonderful time at the Bywater Hideaway! Robert was very accommodating and the place was awesome. Unique and eclectic furnishings, nice outdoor patio, and a great location. Lots of excellent restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby, and just a short walk or cab ride away to the main tourist areas. Definitely recommend staying here! :)
We were in a jam, we had to get our family of 4 out of our house for a night and on zero notice, Robert worked with us to make his house available. We loved the cozy space, hot tub and quiet neighborhood. Can't say enough about the space and the host! Highly recommend !
My mother and father stayed at the Bywater House. Robert was very good about sending us clear information early on. They really enjoyed the neighborhood and of course the house which was very beautiful and spacious.
My husband and I have stayed in Bywater many times. We can't get enough of this trendy, lively neighborhood. Robert's is a sweet, quaint, well equipped half duplex. We loved sitting on the back deck munching on the thoughtfully provided snacks and beverages. We stole some moments sittin' on the traditional front stoop of the attached duplex watching the full moon rise between the quaint rooftops of the houses across the street. We strolled to the arch and enjoyed the river park, casually conversing with the locals. We walked to nearby Elizabeth's for a delicious vegan dinner and walked to Satsuma's for breakfast three times! Don't miss the new NOCCA RESTAURANT. We walked to the french quarter. There is so much to enjoy. We did two loads of laundry in the w/d. This Abnb is comfortable, wonky, authentic and convenient. Robert suggested some new activities. Our favorite activity was the immersive movie at the WWII Museum.
glad you all had fun! new fridge and w/d coming soon!
Robert was awesome! He was great about follow up and was very responsive with any issues we had. The property was clean and easy to find, exactly like the photos and the hot tub was a nice touch. I'd definitely stay there again.
thanks Tess, please come back soon
We stayed here for my girlfriend's birthday and had a great time! The house is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. There was a yard, and our dogs were quite comfortable! It's a great place to stay away from the French Quarter. Thanks Robert!
Come back soon!
Great house in a great location! I was in and out pretty quick but it suited me needs perfectly. I wish I had an opportunity to jump in the hot tub be ran out of time. Definitely on my next stay...
come back soon Andrew, thank you
I stayed at the main house of Robert's Bywater duplex. All I can say is....WOW. it's absolutely beautiful and meticulously decorated in the 19th Century time period of when the house was built. The neighborhood is charming. We enjoyed walking through it everyday on our way to the French Quarter -- it's about 1.5 miles. And when we tired of the quarter, there was plenty to do in Bywater and Marigny. To get to the Garden District, we cabbed it or took the trolley from Canal Street. You do NOT need a car. Cabs are cheap in New Orleans. You will experience the true local scene at Robert's place. One afternoon, the guy across the street opened his front door and played the blues on his dobro, the music spilling out onto the street. Magical.
Stayed at Robert's and it was awesome just a 10min walk to the French Quater and very modern for a historic home. He was a great host and I plan on staying again. Also great breakfast at Elizabeth's a 10 second walk from the front door. I highly reccomend.
Robert and I have been friends for some time now. I've visited his properties and seen how he interacts with his guests. You cannot go wrong in one of Robert's properties. He has AMAZING taste and furnishes his spaces beautifully. He has an attention to detail that any guest will love. You wont believe how large and lovely his proeprties are. They are the best value on airbnb hands down. What more, Robert is the sweetest host you're ever have the pleasure of meeting, laid back, hands off, but always up to show his guests a great time.
