I'm from NY and I love to surf, travel and enjoy life :)
My Girlfriend and I stayed at Eric's place in March and we loved it!! Perfect location for our stay. The place had everything we needed and more. Kitchen was great and we had breakfast every morning on the balcony. I got out to surf everyday and my girlfriend loves Sandy Beach (very short walk down the hill). There are a few good places to eat and drink in walking distance as well but I would definitely recommend a car to make getting around the coast much easier. Must do's: Swimming at Sandy Beach, Snorkeling at Steps Beach, Surf Marias, Eat at 'la copa llena' (in the marina) and if you like thai food def go to 'Ode to the Elephants' (walking distance up a big hill) great food and thursday nights are $5 dollar martinis… a lot of fun. We had the best time and will definitely be back next year. Thanks Eric!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Erik's beautiful and ideally located apartment. Checkin, and contacting Erik, was easy and everything is as advertised.
You're a two minutes walk to Sandy beach, the safest place to swim because it is the only spot without a reef bottom. You're also close to the best bars and restaurants in Rincon: Casa Verde, Tamboo, pools, and casa islena. It's a short drive to all the best surf spots: Domes, Maria's, Dogmans ect.
The only negative experience was when our rental car was broken into while we were snorkeling at Steps. While Rincon is a safe area, I would advise anyone not to leave anything in the car, even if it's for a short period of time.
Overall, I recommend Erik's place for a surf trip, or a fun getaway.
We had a great stay at Erik's apartment in beautiful Rincon with our family of 5. Our favorite part was the balcony with gorgeous views of the ocean, palm trees and brightly painted houses across the way. There was plenty of room for all of us to sit at the table or lounge in the hammock. The pool, located just one flight down, was clean and inviting, especially for a dip on the way home from the beach or in the evening. The apartment was clean and equipped with most things we needed for our beach vacation including beach chairs, a cooler and a boogie board. The location is perfect - just a short walk to Sandy beach and a variety of fun restaurants and shops. The reservation process went smoothly and Erik responded quickly.
We really enjoyed our stay at Erik's. The apartment has everything you would need including fun things like beach chairs, umbrellas and a hammock for the sunny balcony.
The north shore where the apartment is located is great for restaurants and bars and easy to walk around. Very nice little community and seems to be a good mix of quiet homes with places to shop, eat and do yoga which you may not find in the more busy Rincon town center. We had a car rented and had a great time hopping around from beach to beach and taking surfing lessons.
Two friends and I wanted a quick getaway from New York, and were lucky that Erik's place was available. We found it to be perfect. We had a car (there is a designated parking space), but the condo is within walking distance (down a steep hill) to some of the more happening restaurants/bars in Rincon: Casa Verde, Tamboo, Pool Bar and Casa Islena. Since we aren't surfers, the fact that it's closest to Sandy Beach for us was perfect, as it is one of the few with a sandy bottom, and is the widest beach of the ones we saw in Rincon area. The view from the balcony was lovely to wake up to in the morning, and swinging in the hammock while looking at the stars and listening to the ocean was the perfect way to wind down a day. The condo is fully stocked with everything you may need to prep a meal, along with various beach items (chairs, a cooler, water shoes, and even boogie boards). One thing I will point out that we thought was misleading from the listing is that the pool is not private; it's shared with all units. However, we never saw anyone else use it! Also, the AC is a bit loud if you are sleeping in the room with 2 beds. But really, we found the fans to be cool enough. Communication with Erik was prompt and clear, and Elier and Jennifer who managed the condo were also easy to deal with and helpful. We want to return as soon as possible!
I was in Rincon for 10 days for some surfing and relaxing and didn't want to stay in a hotel. Erik's apt was perfect. It's extremely well kept and very spacious. It's also located in a great part of town. You need to rent a car in Rincon to get around to most places but Erik's apt is located within short walking distance to some of the better bars/restaurants, and for the non-surfers, one of the few sand bottom beaches. (Sandy Beach is right down the hill and doesn't have a rock reef like most other beaches in the area.)
Erik's realtors Elier and Jennifer were also very helpful and made checking in and out super easy.
I'm planning another trip down in a few months and hope Erik's apt will be available then.
