really lovely home in a great neighborhood! nancy was prompt with replies, generous with good coffee and left helpful tips about the neighborhood and house. very cozy all in all.
We stayed six nights at Nancy's Boerum Hill row house. The neighborhood was fun to explore; lots of restaurants, shops, bars, and grocery options. Close to the F & G lines, which made getting into Manhattan easy and quick. Nice walk through Brooklyn Heights to the promenade with views of the Brooklyn Bridge and sweeping views of Manhattan. The stay and communication were uncomplicated and straightforward. Even so, Nancy and her daughter reached out to us to make sure we got settled in and had everything we needed. Nancy's house is comfortable and just as magical and eclectic as the photos depict.
We explored other neighborhoods in Brooklyn (we walked & rode the subway extensively) yet we were always glad to come back to Nancy's in Boerum Hill. We recommend Nancy's house and would definitely want to stay there again ourselves.
Nancy is a nice communicative lady from New York. She did forget some personal belongings in my apartment.
Nancy is my wife's aunt so I'm basically required to give a positive reference :). That said, I have spent quite a bit of time at Nancy's house and can say that if you stay at her place you are in for a treat. Her house is a beautiful example of a mid-late 19th century American row house. The details are incredible: 150yr old wood floors, original marble mantels, gilded pier mirror and moldings in the kitchen that will make your jaw drop. Honestly Nancy's house is one of the reasons that my wife and I bought our own row house in Brooklyn. In addition, she is a generous and friendly host and will certainly be a great person to work with in building your trip to Brooklyn. I can't imagine a better place to land here than at her place.
I am a friend of Nancy's daughter, so I had the pleasure to be hosted by her and I have to say that this apartment is perfect!
It is really beautiful brownstone in a perfect location. I really enjoyed the bars and restaurants on Smith street and the easy access to the subways (that connect you perfectly to the rest of the city). The apartment is clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is great for cooking in.
Nancy is helpful and I would definitely recommend this as a nice, quiet but well situated apartment in Brooklyn. Oh and I loved the Brooklyn Inn bar across the street!
Nancy is a great host! Her house is full of beautiful antiques and very carefully and tastefully decorated. The location is wonderful and she does a great job keeping the house updated and the garden beautiful. She has detailed instructions and guidelines to make staying at her brownstone an easy and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend her as a host!
