Great place. Very warm host and beautiful breakfast. Very clean and good location.
We had a great stay in Ireland. Breakfast was delicious, and the location was awesome - a quick walk to everything.
Great room and AWESOME location! Very accommodating with check-in. I'd definitely recommend it!
We very much enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect! Breakfast was delicious. Hosts were lovely. Couldn't ask for better accommodations. Would definitely return for my next Galway adventure.
The room was in a perfect location. It was within walking distance of eyre square and the latin quarter. The room was a perfect size for my gf and I with all of the amenities working. We are even able to drop off our bags when we arrived before check in.
Great location and perfect for our weekend stay in Galway! Everyone was lovely, and very helpful with helping us to plan our day.
Unfortunately I was not able to meet Dolores, but The Forge was a great experience. The location makes it very easy to get around town and see Galway without any effort.
Room was clean and we were treated to breakfast in the morning. We received some advice from another member of the family (her son?) and he was able to give great insight into things to do and see.
Overall, great value and would stay here again.
The location was great. We could easily walk to everything in the city center, but it was removed enough that it wasn't noisy at night. That being said, I wish I had stayed elsewhere. I purposely booked a place that advertised itself as a Bed and Breakfast, thinking there would be a higher standard of cleanliness. The room did not have white bedding like in the picture. The sheets had holes in them and were not very clean. The towels were damp and smelled like mildew. There was mildew between all the shower tiles. The white hand towel in the bathroom was filthy and stained. There was noticeable dirt on the floor in the corners, under the bed, and under the heater.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable, actually causing me to wake up sore. The mattresses were very thin and old, when I sat on it them I sunk through to the bed. To compensate, there were three mattress toppers stacked on the mattress. The down feathers were poking out of the old mattress toppers and through the sheets.
For the price, this place was not clean enough or comfortable enough. With the fee for a second adult, it ended up being only a little less money than the beautiful, clean hotel we had stayed in in Dublin. I wish I would have just stayed in a hotel. The host was out of town, so we didn't really interact with anyone. Very disappointing experience.
Hi Dolores....in your absence, Steve and Sean looked after us wonderfully(Sean wouldnt even let us do the dishes when we came down just on time for breakfast!)....we had a wonderful experience in your bnb and maybe see you the next time around! Best regards Siobhan Orlaith and Mary Catherine x
The Forge was a delight to visit and Dolores made us feel very welcome. The room was big with a lovely bathroom and gave us plenty of space and privacy. Breakfasts were top notch and Dolores was helpful in every way.
It's location close to the city centre and locations in the Art Festival was invaluable and if we ever find ourselves visiting Galway again we'll be sure to return to The Forge.
