Wanda's place is better than advertised. We traveled as two couples and had plenty of space. One regular size bedroom and one large bedroom, configurable living room with cable TV and wifi and a kitchen that had everything you need.
Location is simply perfect. Short walk to the local C train station. 12-15 minute walk to Atlantic Ave terminal and Barclay's Center. Countless restaurants in the area and a reasonably quick subway ride to get anywhere in Manhattan.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Wanda's apartment is fantastic! She had fresh cut flowers in the living room and bedrooms. We were surprised by organic orange juice, organic milk and had everything we could possibly need! The beds were comfortable and there were stand alone air conditioners if needed. Our stay in Brooklyn was the best. We ate at local restaurants and diners, and felt comfortable walking in the neighborhood. Street parking was easy. Anybody would be fortunate to stay in this apartment!
A lovely apartment with comfortable beds, well located in Fort Greene near the subway. Wanda was a great host - fresh flowers, fluffy towels and bagels in the fridge! Would definitely recommend.
Wanda's apartment has been the best choice ever for our stay in New York. It is spacious. Three rooms and two bedrooms with great beds for two couples. The terrace is a perfect spot to drink your coffee and eat the bagels that Wanda provides, while enjoying the playful squirrels walking over the power cords in the gardens behind the houses. Wanda is superbly hospitable. Not only a fridge ful of nice foods and drinks, but also fresh flowers everywhere. Wanda's familiy lives in the apartment upstairs. Leaving us lots of privacy, but nearby when assistence needed. The bedsrooms can be cooled with AC and fan. There is little noise from the streets. Fort Greene is a wonderful neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and delis. The park is beautiful, a market on saturday. Many metrolines nearby. We felt very comfortable! Thank you so much, Wanda!
We had a wonderful stay at Wanda’s place. Wanda greeted us on arrival showed us around the place and even introduced us to her very nice neighbors. Wanda’s place is great for a relaxed evening after exploring NYC and if you feel like going out there are plenty of great restaurants in the neighborhood. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with all the necessities. Our kids enjoyed particularly the squirrels in the backyard.
What can we say about the Wonderful Wanda and her amazing apartment?! There is alway that moment just before you arrive when you wonder if the apartment will compare to the pictures on the website and I can only say that Wanda's beautiful brownstone apartment in gorgeous Fort Green is as close to perfection as can be!!! Even better that the pictures. So stylish, so homely, HUGE and with not only everything you need (the FLUFFIEST towels, tea, coffee, shampoo, shower gel) but also everything you dream about having when you arrive after a long journey, milk, bagels, orange juice and a bowl of CHOCOLATE!!!! The beds were incredibly comfortable, great to come back to every day after walking. It was perfect sitting outside on the porch having coffee. Wanda herself is soooo friendly we wanted to chat to her all night, and nothing was too much trouble.
Fort Green is such a great place too, grocery stores at either end of the quiet leafy street, restaurants and bars and a really relaxed, old world feel.
Go. Just go.
We spent a couple of nights in Wanda's beautiful apartment. Spacious, clean, with all the amenities one could ask for. A refrigerator stacked with bagels, cream cheese and water - a great start visiting Brooklyn and New York city. If you have the opportunity, don't miss out. Fort Greene is also the perfect location for a stay in the city. Streets lined with trees, beautiful houses, great restaurants just around the corner. We had an excellent dinner at Madiba, a south african restaurant a block away, for instance - and would recommend a stay at Wanda's anytime.
What a pleasure to add my voice to the chorus praising Wanda and this terrific apartment. I just spent six nights there with my husband and seven-year old son, and it met our needs perfectly. Wanda was extremely gracious and welcoming, despite our late arrival (we arrived just before midnight). There were fresh flowers in the apartment, bagels, cream cheese, milk and orange juice in the refrigerator, and even a toy for my son! The apartment itself is indeed just as it appears in the photographs. It's clean, and features two air conditioners - important given the hot weather during our stay. There's a playground across the street, small bodega-type stores on both ends of the street, a laundromat nearby, and several subway stops. All in all, a terrific option for anyone spending time in NYC - so much better than a hotel.
Wanda's apartment was amazing. Enough space for 4 adults and a baby, great personal and welcoming touches to the apartment and an awesome Brooklyn neighborhood. The subway was a 10 minute walk with plenty of lines available so we never had to transfer. We have already recommended this apartment to our friends and family. Thanks Wanda!
We were two couples of friends for a week at Wanda's apartment, which is exactly as shown in the photos: spacious, bright, well equipped (dishes, towels, sheets, air conditioning, wi-fi), with plenty of room for all. Wanda is an excellent hostess who waited us (we arrived late) on Sunday with coffee, bagels, chocolates. She also provided us with books and guides to the city, very convinient! The Brooklyn location is really good, one of the most beautiful and very quiet neighborhoods, just about 15-20 minutes from Manhattan. It will be our first choice every time we return to NYC, no doubt!
