My qualifications are in finance and management. But I love Marketing and Advertising. I love to travel and arrange tours for others.
The expansive hillside and mountain vistas would take your breath away. This is a very simple B&B located high atop the hillsides of the Kandy outskirts. If you love nature, peace and quiet, this is the perfect place for you, and the helpful staff, especially Kumar, would make your stay that extra bit more special.
definately one of the most amazing views from any hotel/resort i have ever had. Very friendly staff and always ready to help you arrange drivers and trips (decent price too).
only pity is that the open bathtub in the room that overlooks the mountain is not working, and due to the big wind during the night the roof is crankling and can be hard to sleep. food is average but they recently increased their price by a few folds.
remember that this resort is a refuge into the nature, so prepare yourself to go uphill for 45minutes through some really exciting journey.
The property was great. The top room had that 180 deg. view of the entire valley and sometimes you have hawks flying by the room. The mist would come and go and you have a natural sunshade. The 4 staff members (2 cooks + 2 waiter/bellboys) were so attentive and prompt with timing. I gave them a nice tip when I left!! Kudos to them!
With regards to food, you would have to plan abit ahead to let the chefs know so that they can get the fresh food.
The hardest bit was the road up to 'Club Lespri' (this is the local name) Its all broken and pot holes road so normal sedan cars have a very rough time getting up there. Future guest should ring up the contact before heading up and apparently the usual procedure is for them to arrange for a Tuk Tuk to take you up to Club Lespri with the normal car parked at the bottom of the hill for the last kilometre up the hill. This is the only issue. So ring the host when you are passing through the University!
the house is very nice but in middle of anywhere.
you need not less than 50 min to come from Kandy because there are at least 25 km of huge hill
the rooms are ok each is different from the other and nice, only little bit cold.
The food is ok
If you require a out od the way place this is it. The views all around are fantastic and the top room is a dream. We stayed 2 nights , one night in a lower room that was really nice and the second night in the top room which has the most brilliant views and comes highly recommended. The place is a bit far out but we had a driver arranged who was brilliant, just ask. Mr Kumar was there for our stay and made us feel very welcome indeed. The food was great too. The temple down the hill was broadcasting prayers on the second night and could be heard round the whole valley and it was truly beautiful and evocative. great communication when booking and most recommended. will visit again!
Let me say, if you're not willing to experience Sri Lanka in all of it's natural beauty I don't think you should actually come to Sri Lanka. Yes, the road up to Club Lespri is rough, but that's just part of the experience. Also, waking up to the most incredible views, hearing buddhist prayers echoing through the valley, having breakfast waiting and your entire day be prepared FOR YOU makes up for it tenfold. My husband and I came to Club Lespri without a clue of how to arrange tours to, say, elephant riding through the jungle, climbing the rock fortress, tea factory tours, visiting the relic of the tooth temple, etc, but turns out, we didn't need to lift a finger because Kumar and Priyanthi arranged everything for us the night before. Have to say, excellent organizational skills at work here. Also the food is great, we recommend ordering authentic Sri Lankan from the house chef, and he makes a great english breakfast as well. Know that you can come there with no worries and the staff will guide and help you in any way that is needed.
