I'm from NYC in the US. I work in Admissions with college students. I am friendly, warm, witty and fun! I am very respectful of others spaces and truly value the opportunity to stay in a comfortable home when traveling.

Lori was a great host. She respected the guest and very generous about sharing her place. The room is exact like the pictures and she decorated well. I got everything I need in the room. Very pleasant experience.
I and my wife stayed at Lori's place in February 2015 for one week. Lori and Cody (her dog) were very kind and welcoming to us. They made us feel like we are at home. The room is exactly the same as in the pictures. The house has a very good location. There are bunch of grocery stores, diners and bakeries nearby. It is very convenient to go city center, times square, midtown by subway (It is only couple of stops away).
It was really nice stay in Lori's home! She was the sweetest host ever. She was very welcoming and easy to talk to. She told me everything we would be curious about before we asked her. Me and my friend felt very comfy during the stay. Also Cody, her dog was so adorable! The neighborhood is nice and quiet. E train station is very close, about 5 min walking. Also very close to Manhattan— just one stop by subway. Oh, the heater was really nice as well. It was freezing cold when we got there, but we didn't feel cold at all. She even offered an extra heater!
I highly recommend her room!
Everything perfect, especially the location of the apartment. Lori's place is neat and clean. Cody is a great and silent companion.
The room is ample and comforle. You can access the kitchen and help yourself with beverages or prepare some meal.
Lori was very welcoming. She was very flexible about the time she met me to show me around and give me a key. She had a welcome booklet that contained all the things you could possibly need to know. Her apartment was lovely and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. It was also a great location for me. I will definitely be back Maureen
Lori is an amazing host - we arrived very early on a Monday morning and she still had the previous guests in the room but she let us crash in the living room and leave our things there too for when we went exploring later. She was very helpful when we had questions and is easy to talk to.
The apartment itself is very close to Manhattan even though it is in LIC - it's only 5 stops from Times Square and the subway stop is about two blocks from Lori's place - 3 minute walk maybe. There's a cute diner at the corner at Court Square that has great pancakes, a supermarket very close buy, a new Dunkin Donuts and about a million other things within walking distance of her place too! Even a post office!
The room was a perfect size for two people, the bed very comfy, an abundance of towels provided as were some other little things (bandaids, shower gel, nail polish remover, hair dryer and more!). Bathroom is right next door - the amazing water pressure after a long freezing day outside was very much appreciated! The whole apartment was kept clean and we could use what we needed (kitchen for making breakfast, living room to chill...). There's a TV that we ended up not using at all, wireless internet and when it got very cold outside, Lori even provided a space heater in case the room got too cold (which it didn't - but it was still very much appreciated - sightseeing in -4°C the whole day makes one crave heat, let me tell you).
Cody is also lovely! Very quiet dog that rarely barks and loves all people. Very well behaved, so if you don't want him in your room, just tell him to go and he will leave immediately.
Lori's welcome packet is very thorough and includes many tips and tricks for NY and her neighbourhood - take out places and shopping tips and more!
The neighbourhood felt safe and was pretty quiet compared to the general level of noise in Manhattan. Lori's street itself is pretty quiet with not too much traffic.
This was the best experience we could have hoped for when booking with Lori - I would recommend staying with her to all my friends!
It was our first experience with Airbnb and it was great. I would definitely recommend Lori's apartment if you look for a place to stay in New York. The room was exactly as described. The neighbourhood is a nice area to stay. There are many nice restaurants and cafes around - we recommend a place called TukTuk. Lori is very nice and helpful person :)
Katarzyna and her boyfriend were wonderful guests! I missed the deadline to review them! I never do that. So very spry Katarzyna!
Lori was a great guest! Clean, nice and well mannered. Absolutely recommended. We hope we will go to soon to NYC where she is also a host!!
Lori is just, simply thé best guest you CAN imagine : generous, friendly and sweet! She took vare of the appartement and left it in perfect situation!
Lori turned me onto this Airbnb thing and that's what so special about her: a selfless person helping out a friend who is in direct competition!! I've known her and her champ, Cody, for several years, and she's always been there for last minute requests to walk my dog and to have an occasional glass of wine with. Lori has a lovely, clean apartment and is a wonderful friend a neighbor. She'll be a great host!
Lori is a wonderful and kindhearted person. We have met through a mutual friend and I took an instant liking to her. Since I go to the school that she works at I always just love to just stop by and have a little chat with her. Lori lives in what is one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York City. I live only a few stops away from Long Island City but if I could choose this would be the neighborhood I would move to. I know that living with Lori and her dog would be nothing but a memorable and positive experience.
i lived here for a year until I moved in with my fiancé and as another ex-roommate of Lori's, I have to agree and can surely vouch for her awesome nature and loving spirit. Living with her was great. The apartment is ideal. Close to so many subways, getting you into Manhattan in mere moments and big enough to accommodate. Enjoy you visit with her!
Lori is a neighbor of ours, and I can't speak more highly of her. She is a wonderful, thoughtful person who genuinely cares about her neighbors and is always among the very first to offer help when folks need a little hand. She's fun, and funny, has a wonderfully sweet dog, Cody, and her apartment is in a great and easily accessible area.
Long Island City is immediately outside Manhattan, and her place is just blocks from the amazing water front, close to cool bars and boutiques, as well as several grocery stores.
I've stayed with folks in other cities, and I happily recommend Lori and her apartment as good company and a good home away from home.
I was looking for a room to rent in the hip neighborhood of Long Island City in 2008. I found Lori on Craig*slist. Sometimes those Craig*slist finds can be disasters, as most know. But, I was extremely lucky to find Lori. She is a super awesome person, so friendly, trustworthy, accommodating, fun, and easy to live with. I had a great experience living in her apartment for almost 2 years, till I moved out of town. Lori turned out to be a great friend, as well as the apartment was in a fantastic location to the waterfront (BEST VIEW of Manhattan), Vernon Blvd of shops and restaurants, and public transportation. I'm sure you'll be super happy to stay at Lori's place, she's a great gal! Plus, her bull dog Cody is a total sweetheart!!
