Our stay was unfortunately marked by a lack of running water on a consistent basis. Whilst this was fixed, it kept breaking again and again or ending up with only one bathroom having water at any point in time.
The Vila Is quiet large but looks more tired then the pictures suggest. I would say they are from when it was constructed. Cleanliness was also questionable.
For the price, you could say for what you get it isn't that bad, however we ran into several other people in Ubud who paid less or about the same for better accommodation.
Ultimately buyer beware and do your research on other options.
Great place to enjoy. Lots of space and light .
Enough posibilities to find a nice meal close by.
Swimming pool is beautiful one minute Walking from door to door.
Walking distance to centrum is easy if your a normal active adult .
A very cute Balinese house tucked a bit further off the main road than we expected but a good experience over all. I would recommend the location only with a driver (which we had) as it was quite removed from the main shopping streets in Ubud.
Although we never met Maureen, she was very easy to get in touch with when we needed her.
Maureen and I have been friends since before she arrived in Bali as we started communicating because we were both B&B owners. She has become a dear friend and colleague as we have some business skills that we share...( we are both Certified Money Coaches) Maureen is the utmost host...capable ..honest....funny....and knowledgable.....I would recommend anyone coming to Ubud will be in good hands with Maureen.
Having been the owner of a bed and breakfast, Maureen and Steve understand how to host! But the very best part about their place is that it is nestled in the middle of a very cool community of people who are friendly and eager to have fun. The house is light and spacious and very close to a character street that has most of the necessary amenities in Ubud, including some of the city's best and most unique restaurants. Lots of cool walking trails through the rice paddies nearby too.
I stayed at Maureen's house for 10 days, and it was a pleasure through and through! The entire house is fresh and crisp with while floors and beautiful drapes and wonderful airflow and lighting! High ceilings and two floors made it feel like I was in a palace! It's located in Penestenan, an awesome little nook of Ubud, and it's great if you want to be a bit more independent with your own transport! But it's definitely do-able if you want to walk the town and stay outside of the crazy-busy-tourity main street area! Maureen is a blessing to humanity and was so sweet to accommodate. Definitely a gem in Ubud!
Without a doubt, you'll want to meet Maureen and her family! The next best thing is to stay at their place in Bali. It's centrally located near loads of international restaurants, spas and yoga centers, but away from the noise and ruckus that the center of town has.
Maureen and her family are honest, sincere and will make you laugh! Our sons are bosom buddies that are nearly inseparable. They spend all day running back and forth along the path between our homes in earnest, young boy fun. It's amazing and we're blessed to have the honor of being friends.
