We stayed 3 nights in Bamboo Sunrise House 7 with our 2 teenage sons. We were made to feel very welcomed. Our driver that picked up us was good. We stopped off at The Bali Deli and picked up some snacks on the way. The house is extremely unique, well maintained and really quite incredible. We had free Wifi & television so the boys were happy. As there are no windows, yes there were bugs but the nets around the beds keep them out! We found the beds and pillows extremely comfortable. The only negative is we thought we were closer to Ubud center than what we were actually (approx 30mins with traffic) and because the Bamboo House is quite remote, you really do need to use the Bamboo House drivers (which cost roughly double what you would normally pay). All things considered, we really enjoyed our time and if you are looking for a truly different experience I would recommend it.
Staying at The Blue House was fantastic. It made the experience of Bali so much more...Bali!
The staff were friendly and approachable, always willing to help/assist. The food was incredible. The room was so perfect and cosy and it all just felt perfect. I would definitely recommend this as a fantastic spot to get away. Get a drink, watch the sunset, and enjoy the pace that is Ubud.
I wouldn't say it's walk-able to downtown Ubud, but the staff was so helpful to arrange for a taxi whenever we needed one. Which made the distance easy to manage. Thank you Bambu Indah!
The bamboo house was so beautiful and exactly like the pictures and description listed. Our host was so understanding and made sure we were always take care of. We had someone in our group get very sick and she helped coordinate a on call doctor that had visited twice. There were a few times that my group could not make a decision or had changed there mind which could be frustrating for a host but she always made something happen that pleased the whole group.
Regarding location: it is quite a bit outside of UBUD. Every taxi driver could not find the location. When I had asked for a more specific address, they mentioned it was just a hard location to find. We ended up using their taxi drivers often just so we could be sure to make it back home! Also, as the pictures show, there are no walls, bring a lot of bug spray because you will get eaten alive.
Overall, great experience to give a try.
Utter heaven. Lulled to sleep by the sound of the river ajung then woke to it. Incredible dusk and dawn chorus. Good mosquito nets. A lot of time spent sitting and gazing at the valley. The trees. The swaying bamboos. The house martins. Swallows. Kingfishers. 7 species of butterfly. Nesting bird on the bamboo eaves. Incredible and inspiring design. Hot bath by moonlight. if we had been 1 of three couples would have wanted aircon unit for each bed not just master bed. Minor quibble but poss tricky if you are sharing the house equally. Please let me know if you take bamboo house concept to other bits of Indonesia or anywhere. For once didn't feel we were carrying the poisoned chalice of tourism. And would have loved an opportunity to but the beautiful green staff sarong!
Our family of 6 stayed at the Bamboo house for 3 days. The experience is AMAZING!
First of all, the house itself is breathtaking! It is a 4 story house all made of bamboo. The house is openly designed in that it does not have windows to separate you from the the nature. Staying in the house feels like you are living in the woods. The only downside is the noise, you can hear bird tweeting and river running in the night. some people may find it difficult to sleep with these noises, however, I had no problem at all.
The whole property contains nine bamboo houses and it is actually like a resort. There is a professional management team who take care of all guests . There is a bar from where you can order breakfast and dinner and drinks. Also, you can order massages. Our villa manager Maggie, who speaks fluent English, is very helpful. I had a little engagement ceremony thrown at the grassland of the property and Maggie helped me with planning and logistic!
Things that can be improved includes: after hour service. The resort office and the bar both close after 5, which means you can not get food or drinks or other other sort of assistance after 5 pm. Also, the menu from the bar can be diversified a little to provide guest with more choices.
Overall, our stay was great!!! We loved it and we would recommend the bamboo house to people who are nature lovers and want to seek out a different travel experience.
Thanks Maggie and all the staff at the Green Village!
This is a super unique property and experience. Absolutely stunning home and surroundings. This is definitely off the beaten path and a great way to spend some time in the middle of island. With the open air environment, there is not a whole lot of privacy, but that didn't bother us at all! Also, can be hot at night and at mid-day, but you get used to it! And that is what pools are for.
The staff at Green Village are extremely responsive and professional. The food was excellent as well and reasonably priced. We also built a Jegog, a traditional Balinese musical instrument- very interesting if you are interested in bamboo or music, or both.
If you love being and living with nature then this place is definitely for you. Beautiful surroundings, wonderful and friendly local staff and the food was great: breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had a private yoga lesson in the hotels bamboo house which was one of the best I've had; plus a 2hr Balinese massage which I also recommend.
Our host was very welcoming and helpful. She gave us some great suggestions of places to visit. The house was as beautiful as the pictures. There were alot of bugs, especially the first evening and this was due to wet season, however our host was very helpful and did assist in every way she could. There was a big improvement the second night and we were able to enjoy our stay. The area is quiet and serene, and at night the river can be heard beneath you. Very relaxing. The house is very spacious (could hold 6ppl) and really beautiful. Overall, an incredible and different place to visit and stay. We probably wouldn't visit again during the wet season but would definitely return during dry season.
The facility hostes was a welcome surprise. We thought we were on our own to make car arrangements, food etc. Therefore we had reservations about making the booking. However, Maggie and staff gave us the convenience of a hotel with the independence and privacy of a renting a home. The neighbors quickly became new friends. The experience was great.
Booking this bamboo house was one of the best decisions we made in Bali. From the moment we arrived the experience was magical. Not only is the little house beautiful designed and makes you feel like you're in a private treehouse, I also love that it's created with sustainable design and material. I hope more places are designed like this! Also, they provide a great menu of food onsite which is great for creating a truly relaxing experience. The food is delicious!
