We really enjoyed to stay in this accommodation, it was very clean with a big kitchen. Mr Abu and all the staff of this guesthouse were really nice and helpful. We recommend !!!
Bad experience !
It's far from everything (30 minutes walk to the city center, and it's not a nice road).
Staff is not nice (not welcoming, nobody introduced himself as the owner, people sleeping in the living room; etc.).
Room is not clean and not nice. (hairs in the bathroom, pillows are hard as rocks, cockroach, no light in our room)
I highly recommend Morning Glory. George is extremely helpful, I often emailed him and he was always prompt in replying and couldn't do enough for us. The location is a nice residential area, perfect for access to the hospital and the 20-30min walk into town is pleasant. The rooms were very clean, with comfortable beds and excellent air con. Shared bathroom and kitchen facilities are nothing fancy, but everything is clean, in good working order and I never had to wait for a hot shower. The rooms off the living area can be a bit noisy at times, so if you are a light sleeper maybe ask for a room at the end of the house or upstairs (or wear ear plugs).
George has a guest house outside of the center of Kuching that is managed by his long time associate Ahmed. While George picked me up at the airport and drove me into town the first evening and next morning of my stay, I never again saw or heard from him. The house is well-maintained and includes full kitchen access as well as 24/7 access to a computer and wifi. My room was nice with a private bath and a nice hot water shower. Not being in the center of town, every time I wanted to go somewhere, Ahmed had to call me a taxi or drive me in himself. In that the earlier part of my trip involved homestays where my hosts provided meals and invited me into their lives, this experience was relatively lonely. Ultimately I did find many interesting things to do and visit in Kuching though staying outside of the center of the town was probably not the best idea.
Very good value for money. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Good kitchen and bathrooms too. This guesthouse is a healthy 30-minute walk from the centre of Kuching. Alternatively the cab ride is RM 12, or you can rent a scooter for RM 20 per day.
It was a nice place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. It was a quick taxi ride to the downtown/river area. They were super helpful in arranging for daily rides as well as a sight seeing day.
