A Log Diamond! Easy to find, looked like the photos - the atmosphere of "good old days". Warm welcome, clean and tidy room, food for breakfast (delicious bred), good bed - nothing lacking.
Donna and Art gave us good advises on what to see and do; very interesting surroundings. The mill building is spesial!
A tip to history interested guests: read the little black book in the basket: "At Gettysburg - or what a girl saw and heard of the battle". The book gives an interesting view from a child's angle.
We adored the charming Colonial touches throughout our quarters: hand stenciling, peaceful colors, and homemade cinnamon peach bread. We woke up to robins building a nest. Donna and Art are cordial and kind people.
Art & Donna were wonderful hosts! My friend and I stayed at their cozy, country house to visit my son in nearby Hanover for nearly a week. This location is charming, clean, and convenient (close enough to the highway for easy access to Hanover and surrounding towns/cities yet rural enough to feel laid back for relaxing). Art & Donna themselves are very sweet and accommodating! When we arrived, interrupting their dinner (oops), Art & Donna were more than happy to show us around the grounds and to our separate space. The space itself was so charming and refined. The room was well stocked with appliances (thank goodness for the mini-fridge and coffee maker). We were also welcomed with a homemade loaf of bread, mints, and a stocked fridge with goodies including sodas, milk, yogurt, OJ, and butter. There were plenty of interesting books for those hoping to sit back and really enjoy the quiet of the space. The bathroom was very clean and inviting, the kitchen had plenty of storage, and the desk was comfortable to utilize. Plenty of parking and a separate entrance made this space feel private and comfortable which is great when you're far away from home. Art & Donna went above and beyond to make this space and the stay perfect.
Shhhh! The Log House guest suite has got to be one of airbnb's best kept secrets! Art and Donna do a wonderful job of making their guest feel welcome. We were in town for less than 48 hours so we didn't stay long this time but we plan to return. Traveling from Boston, we drove in terrible weather and didn't arrive until 1:00 am. Art was kind enough to wait up and let us in. Pastry and a fridge stocked with snacks were waiting for us on arrival. The room and loft are cozy, inviting and wonderfully decorated (even nicer than the pictures). The place is close to a small highway so it's easy to find but the neighborhood is quiet and quaint. We can't wait to go back.
What a lovely, restful stay! Art & Donna have created a beautifully appointed place with handsome furnishings. The fridge stocked with juice, milk and yogurt along with fresh fruit, tea coffee, granola and muffins were an unexpected bonus. The whole place is clearly a reflection of the welcoming, kind people they are. I'd highly recommend this as a destination for anyone just wanting to get away even though I was there for a nearby business trip.
This was our first experience with AirBNB. Art and Donna were the perfect hosts. They greeted us and and welcomed us to their log cabin. After a long drive the cookies and milk were a welcome treat! The cabin was warm, cozy and spacious. It was nicely appointed with antiques. Art and Donna's was the perfect base for exploring Adams counties. We were very pleased with our first AirBNB experience. We look forward to visiting in warmer weather when we can take advantage of the grounds.

Art & Donna were lovely hosts and made it very comfortable and safe. The unit was outfitted in antiques that were usable and fit the setting perfectly. I took several pictures of a few of the design elements for my future reference!
I was attending a weaving workshop in the area and will look forward to returning when I attend another workshop in the future.
I stayed at The Log House over the Thanksgiving holiday, as I was in town to visit my mother. I felt immediately at home in this cozy, historic cabin. The guest suite is simply charming and Art and Donna thought of everything a traveler could need (the milk and cookies sure were nice after a day of visiting with family and friends!). I would recommend this lovely room to anyone visiting the area.
We absolutely loved our stay at The Log House. (We were in the area for Dickinson College events and just couldn't bring ourselves to stay in the Days Inn.) Art & Donna are phenomenal hosts - warm and welcoming, and also completely respectful of our privacy. The house is so beautifully rebuilt (with modern conveniences like forced air heat) and extremely elegantly/tastefully decorated. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Art and Donna were incredibly friendly and gracious hosts--it's a very unique, very clean rustic guest-house, with plenty of privacy.
The fridge was stocked with some breakfast essentials, and the bathroom even had a spare toothbrush for us.
Dillsburg is a neat location in PA--close to some great hiking, fishing, and beautiful country.
Art and Donna booked the room for their son, Jesse Bert, Mexico artist traveling to Maine art festival. He was a great guest (and a great person)! We enjoyed his stay and certainly would love to have him stay with us again!!!
Very Nice family, left place neat and tidy would host anytime.
loved having them here.
Very nice guests, they would be welcome back anytime. It was nice to see that they enjoyed their visit.
Art and Donna have been family friends for as long as I can remember. They are some of the most honest, hardworking and down to earth people I know. As I've gotten to know them better I've grown to appreciate their interest in sustainability and their ability to take the old whether it's a house, a mill or a piano and make it new. One can always count on relaxed conversation and good food when you get together with Art and Donna. You won't be disappointed.
