Appartement très bien situé au centre de Reykjavik. Bien équipé. Très heureux de mon choix, sauf pour le bruit du chantier urbain avoisinant. Espérant qu'il ne dure pas longtemps.
The apartment is in a great central location, 5 minutes walk from the main shopping street and 5 minutes from the coast. Collecting the keys and dropping them off before leaving caused no problems. The actual apartment is really nice, clean and airy with all modern conveniences. We did find it a bit cold at first, but once the heating was working correctly that wasn't a problem. We had 5 days there and would definitely return, highly recommended.
This is a great apartment for exploring Reykjavik! It is the perfect size, much bigger than a hotel room but not so big you lose track of where you set something down. The bed and shower are great, as is the living room. The kitchen is very, very small (really just part of a wall in the hallway), but it is enough to make breakfast in. There isn't much of a view from the apartment itself (it's in the back of the building), but you can see the water from the street.
Location-wise, it's an easy walk to the center of town. Plus, all the tour companies that do trips (to the Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle, airport, etc.) offer hotel pick-up. The Kex Hostel is just a block and a half away; we used it as our pick-up and drop-off location very easily. We also heartily recommend Kryddlegin Hjörtu, a soup-and-salad buffet across the street from Kex. We went twice in our five days there!
Just one word of warning: do NOT trust where (website hidden) Maps places pins in Iceland. The (website hidden) Map generated by Airbnb said the apartment was several blocks away from where it actually was (and we had this problem with other locations, as well--it can get the street right, just not the number). Additionally, Iceland doesn't do street numbers on buildings with any predictable regularity (this building didn't have one), so there is a lot of guessing you have to do. That said, it's a very small city; it isn't too hard to figure out!
We didn't meet David personally, but the apartment was exactly as described. It is more spacious than it looks in the pictures. Actually there was even a hair drier and flat screen TV, which wasn't in the description. Great location less than 10 minute easy walk from the center of downtown and more importantly quiet! Two streets up is the main laugavegur shopping street. One street over on skulgata is the KEX hostel, which is great for tour pickups/dropoffs as well as a bar/cafe/restaurant. We loved the Kryddlegin Hjörtu restaurant across from KEX, though I think they are going to move downtown.
This apartment was great, it was clean and comfortable. Location was fantastic! The Wi-Fi was useful. David was very accommodating with check in / check out times and even dropped off the keys for us at the bus station when we arrived. Great place, great host. Would definitely recommend it!
Great location for exploring central Reykjavik. Close to most of the tourist destinations (museums, parks, Hallgrímskirkja church), restaurants and transportation (Bus terminal). Couldn't quite figure out the washing machine, and the kitchen isn't enough for anything but making sandwiches/cereal (which you'll want to do to save money on food), but overall, I highly recommend this apartment.
By the way, regarding restaurants, go to Fish Company (Fiskfélagið) but don't waste your time/kronur at Fish Market!
The location of this apartment was great. It was comfortable and clean. David was flexible with check in and check out details.
This apartment was just as described in the posting . It was centrally located, bright clean and had everything I needed for my stay in Reykjavik. Grocery store around the corner.....come to think of it everything was just around the corner. Perfect base of operations while exploring the city and surrounding area.
This is a great cozy flat with nice energy and David is an excellent host! He is very helpful and accommodating. Iceland is such a marvelous fantastic place of wonder. I can't wait to return!
This flat is in a quiet but central location. You can walk to most places of interest in the city. It is clean and comfortable. The airport Fly Bus will drop you at the nearest hotel (but our driver took us all the way to the flat). We slept really well which is not always the case in hotels. The kitchen area is quite small but it is fine for breakfast and simple hot meals. The washing machine was useful for hand-baggage only cheap flights. The dining and sitting area is a good size and beats a hotel bedroom if you want to spend a bit of time reading and resting between activities. We enjoyed our stay very much. The booking and contact arrangements were very straightforward. I am happy to recommend it.
David & Co. were very nice tennants. They left the place clean and in fine order. And all the way through the communication was very good. Recommended!
David was so nice and treated the appartment very well.
I can recommend him as a guest and thank him very much!
