Thomas is a nice decent person. The apartment is really cold inside and a bit dirty. But if u plan only to sleep there and pass the rest of the day somewhere else it's ok given the price.
The flat is certainly very large, prestigious and very well located to reach many of Tbilisi's trendy areas, shops, restaurants and cafes.
The amenities were very basic, so my experience was more like couch surfing than Typical AirBNB. Make sure you bring your own towel!
Thomas was a nice host, very flexible when it came to my later than expected check-in and early morning check-out.
This flat is in a perfect location! Thomas was hospitable and greeted us even though we arrived during the night. The room was large, clean and the shower was piping hot! A great place to stay and would highly recommend it!
The apartment is in a good location in old Tbilisi, and was easy to find. Thomas gave us good directions and we found the apartment to be clean and in decent condition considering its age. Unfortunately Thomas did not make his house "rules" about using the facilities clear at all when we arrived. On our second day we began using his washing machine which he said we could use on arrival. We put on one wash and then proceeded to use the drying machine/tumble dryer. However we could not use the dryer because the energy expense was too much for him. We were surprised that we were forbidden to use something we had paid to access. His solution was to hang our clothes in the cold outside where there was little chance they would dry quickly. We pointed out that he had no means for us to hang them on the line outside his house. He suggested we buy clips ourselves. Again surprised at our host's reaction we proceeded to hang them on the line. We then started a second wash for the remainder of our clothes. This was the tipping point for Thomas, as he began yelling and berating my boyfriend for "abusing" his facilities. We also became angry and offered him money to pay for our two washes but he simply continued to berate us for "abusing" his facilties and taking advantage of his "cheap rates". We continued to argue with him and decided it was best for us to leave. This did not stop him from demanding money from us for the second night and ambiguous statements about cancelling our reservation. We then left without further incident. Clearly Thomas is a host who considers his guests to be housemates not paying customers. He does not see his "cheap" listing as a service but as a favour to tourists. We went across the road to a perfectly nice guesthouse, paying 4 lari more each for a warm private room, with proper bed linen, heating, and facilities we were invited to use so we finished our two loads of laundry at last! We both understand that air bnb is not a hotel service, but we considered our need to do two loads of washing perfectly reasonable considering we'd paid for the use of his home. May I suggest Thomas clarifies his rules to his guests on arrival and not harrassing them about it after they've "broken" them. Frankly I'd suggest staying at a similarly priced guesthouse where you are welcome to use the facilities during your stay.
We only stayed here for 1 short night. Thomas was very responsive and helpful. The apartment is large. Definitely not the most comfortable place we've stayed, but good for the price. Shared bathroom wasn't the cleanest.
I stayed at Thomas's place, which is in the very city center, for one week while looking for an accommodation in Tbilisi on my own. Thomas in these days was extremely nice and helpful. A place in perfect Couchsurfing style, recommended to independent travelers ready for some smart conversations.
Apartment is located in the Old Tbilisi, very close to the main tourist attractions and other interesting places to visit.
We were provided with all the basic facilities to feel comfortamble. Our host Thomas gave us useful advises about less touristic things of the city.
Overall a good place where to stay during visit of Tbilisi, though might be challenging for southern people if they visit Tbilisi in winter.
This was my first experience with airbnb and Thomas made it a very enjoyable experience. His apartment was the perfect way to experience Tbilisi. You can see Mother of Georgia just through the window and flat is in the center of city. Flat is also very beutiful and big. It's perfect for a old-style lovers like me.
Thomas also was very friendly and helped us with our jorney. He is smart, interesting man and gourmet.
During the winter it was a little cold but he gave us heat machine.
Hope to see you in Moscow!
