This is a great house for travelers who want to go around the Big island. We have stayed 6 nights at Daniel's house. It is clean, safe, quiet and full of surprises. The noise of heavy rain, the song of night birds, the sound of ocean waves help greatly for us fall quickly into sleep. The books and magazines on the Big island or Hawaii are very interesting. And it is convenient for cooking food and washing clothes. This is an amazing place you can imagine.
Daniel was very easy to communicate with. This was my first time using Airbnb and I was a little worried about the process and how things would turn out. Daniel was able to answer all of my questions in a timely and knowledgeable fashion. His home was welcoming. We arrived in Hilo early in the morning and Daniel arranged the home to be available to us several hours earlier than 3pm. Check in was simple. The location of his property made traveling to popular sites fairly easy. We're able to do so many things in a short amount of time. Daniel was a gracious host and provided amenities that I didn't expect (binoculars, travel guides, coolers, beach chairs, laundry detergent) just to name a few. He also has a great entertainment center that includes hundreds of Wii games and movie titles ( we were so busy we didn't realize this until the last day). His kitchen is fully stocked which makes preparing meals easy. This saved us a lot of money by eating at home. I would highly recommended choosing Daniel's property to my friends as it is a great value with a gracious host.
David was easy to work with and the neighborhood was quite.
Very nice and big place to stay, in a very quiet neighborhood.
Daniel's house was just as described and was perfect for our stay on the Big Island. It is a short walk from a scenic road overlooking black rock cliffs and teal waters and relatively close to get to other attractions (Pahoa Village, Volcanoes National Park, black sand beaches, etc.) by car. The neighborhood itself is very quiet, so it's great if you're looking for a secluded getaway close to the shore. However, there is no wifi and limited cell reception in the house, so just something to keep in mind!
Aloha Hideaway was a great value and the perfect base for exploring eastern and southern parts of the Island. From here we were easily able to get to Hilo, Volcano National Park and even the Green Sand beach near South Point. The home is spacious, very comfortable and well-stocked with lots of useful supplies. We appreciated the movies the host made available and his recommendations for off-the-beaten path things to do in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Beautiful home in a nice quiet neighborhood just a short drive to park to view sunrise. The home is very nicely furnished, very comfortable and even had games and movies for the kiddo!
The host made our stay very inviting. There was a very relaxing and comfortable hammock in a beautiful covered lanai. The house was equipped with all the necessary household goods. I was traveling from California and I was baking a cake and I was happily surprised to find a mixer that did the trick! The neighborhood was very laid back and the neighbors were all very pleasant.
The house was spacious and a great value! Check in and out could not have been simpler. We were very pleased to find beach chairs and towels available. Well located in a great part of the island. We saw a few roaches, understandable as they are hard to control in the wet environments. For the value I think most could forgive this.
Daniel was very helpful and informative. He gave us a several page itinerary suggestion which turned out to be one of our favorite things to do on the hilo side of the island. The house was nicely sized and in a good location. Though there was no cable, there was a large collection of DVDs. Daniel had fresh flowers throughout the house for our arrival which was wonderful. A washer and dryer was a wonderful amenity.
He was very polite and friendly. Daniel and his guests left the house in great condition and were respectful. We sincerely appreciate the feedback he gave us on how to improve our lodging and accommodations. We hope to see him next year when they come back for SEMA.
