Young SIngaporean Couple
I stayed with Joel and Rebecca for a month to attend my job interviews, and it was GREAT! They were very nice and accommodating hosts and helped me with numerous things. I loved their children, Ian and Ivan, and I'm pretty sure they also enjoyed me staying there--calling me Aunty and always greeting and checking up on me and what not :) haha. The parents were gone in the weekdays for work so most of the time I was with the children and their housekeeper, Suda, who was absolutely sweet and friendly. One of my favorite moments were their delicious various Indian meals served during dinner time. SO GOOD. The room itself was just right. Not too small, enough closet space, cable tv, aircon, okay wifi connection, and Suda cleans and vacuums the room every 2-3 days (she also helps out with your laundry if you need assistance). The location was great, 5-7 min walk to the Mall, the MRT, restaurants, and other services (i think a hospital?). There were times when the kids would get a little too hyper, loud, and excited, so i'd just end up working in nearby cafes with wifi access to concentrate. Problem solved! :)
The accomodation was very peaceful allowing for a good night sleep. Joel and family were extra accomodating, but most importantly of good characters. The family domestice helper was especially nice and alwayd available. Location was also fantastic with Orchard only 2 stations away.
Although I wasn't able to stay at Joel's due to airline issue, he was very helpful. He provided excellent directions to his place through email and was also quick to respond to my queries. I will surely stay with his family next time I visit Singapore.
Joel and his wife were very helpful and friendly. Joel provide excellent directions from the MRT. I had a nice room with good bed with a desk I could using my laptop on. The internet was fast. The pool at the condo complex was great after a hot and humid day touring Singapore. The location is very convenient, only a few minutes from the Novena MRT - which has a good food court on the third floor and lots of shopping. The Stephen's family helper cooked me several Indian meals which were delicious (I love spicy Indian food!). She also did my laundry which was great.
Their two children are full of energy and did get a bit noisy on occasion - that is pretty common with 7 year olds. They were curious to meet someone from abroad too. I felt part of the extended family.
Joel and his wife were very accommodating. It was difficult for me to place an exact time of arrival but they worked with me and were flexible. The room is small but clean. Even if I was only there for one night, you can tell they put in the effort to prepare the room and take care of me as if I were there for a longer stay. They also dropped me off at the Newton Station on their way to church which was very kind, especially when it’s walking distance from their condo.
I stayed only for a night, the room was a little small though. The location is just where it's stated, very near the MRT station. There was a domestic helper who helped with everything and the family was family as well. The only problem was at the morning it was really noisy because the room is at the ground floor and there were loud sounds of kids at 8am. I got home really late so I needed the sleep because I was flying later. Other than that, it was great (:
Joel, Rebecca and their children stayed at the Yellow Door for two days. They left the house in good order. Happy to host any time.
Joel and his wife are a really charming friendly couple who came to stay with us in London. They kept in constant contact with us letting us know their arrival times etc so it was really easy to synchronise keys handover. They were out a lot exploring and making the most of their trip in London. We shared very interesting conversations with Joel each night and found them very respectful, considerate and really lovely people to have around. We would love to have them back and can only highly recommend their company!
