I'm Irish but I've been living in London for over five years now. I work as a senior commissioning editor at a small publishing company- it's my dream job and the reason I moved to London in the first place. I enjoy swing dancing and enjoy collecting vintage clothes, mainly from the 50s.
Aside from London I have to admit that I'm not very well travelled and it's a source of shame that I've never made it out of Europe yet. One of the reasons for this is that I love Italy (many of my friends live there and I love the food and atmosphere) so it's been very tempting to go there once, twice, even three times a year! However, I'm keen to break out of that habit and explore as much as I can in the next few years with a trip to the US top of my list!
I love reading (surprisingly as a publisher) and enjoy reading fiction mainly with my favourite author being Salman Rushdie but I try to read history and biographies too. In terms of films I'd say my favourite is a Notorious, a Hitchcock film starring Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman but I have quite wide tastes and a strong appreciation for cheesy movies. I enjoy swing, blues, R&B and country music but my guilty please is 80s/90s cheese, particularly of the power ballad variety. Foodwise I'm not very fussy except that I hate mushrooms and as a good Irish girl like my meat well done!
My travelling style is quite relaxed but only if I've planned far in advance! I'm very tidy and considerate of others and love meeting new people and learning about the history of an area.
