Catherine was overseas when I arrived, but her friend Maribelle was very helpful and very charming both when I arrived and when I was leaving. The flat is is a great location very close to the bars and cafes along Oberkampf. I found the best & closest Metro to be Parmentier (line 3). There's a Monoprix at the end of Oberkampf, and other small supermarkets along the way, but the bars & cafes are the real treat. Plenty of boulongeris as well.
Thank you for a very nice stay at your apartment. Everything was perfect. The apartment is very cosy and clean and the location is perfect and close to restaurants, cafes etc.
I would be happy to rent your apartment another time.
Had a great stay at Catherine's apartment!! The location is just great. The neighbor is so lovely! If you wanna have a real Parisien experience, that is the place to be;) Also, on foot it is less than 5 min away from this super trendy Overkampf area full of bars and young people. The apartment is so cosy, and has everything you need. Catherine is so reachable via e-mail, and is a very kind person. She makes sure that you have a very comfortable stay. I could not get a better Airbnb experience than that in Paris!! Thank you Catherine!
An absolutely wonderful place to stay in Paris for 3 weeks. The apartment is small, as Paris apartments are, but it has a beautiful ambience and sense of calm that makes it feel spacious. While the apartment has been renovated in a simple and elegant way, the building itself is old and the stairs to climb to the apartment are full of character. The wifi connection was fast and reliable and I loved being able to make free phone calls on the landline. Tatiana, who met me at the apartment, and Catherine, were wonderful hosts. Thank you both so much. The area around the apartment is real Paris not tourist Paris. It never felt unsafe to me as a woman travelling there alone. The metro stations of Parmentier, Couronnes, Goncourt, Republique are close by. There is a mix of public and private housing, lots of little bars, young families, a mosque, shops selling the Koran, halal butchers, and the 10th and 11th A is where many of the cutting edge new restaurants are concentrated. I absolutely recommend Catherine's apartment. And thank you again Catherine for your kindness and welcome.
We've stay in Catherine's flat (16-21 June 2013) and it was great.
Catherine was very responsiveness in all my questions before/after my stay, always immediate response with very good explanations.
The check in was really late (~24:00) and Gisela was very receptive with us.
The building needs a repair but the apartment is very comfortable, large space for a couple with a very good kitchen.
The location is also good, close to metro (email hidden) street on Tuesday/Friday.
The Wi-Fi was excellent, very fast connection (download and upload).
The price is very reasonable comparing to a hotel 2/3 stars.
I recommend this flat to all my friends (even better than a Paris hotel). :)
I stayed at Catherine's for a month during my stay in Paris and it was just what I was looking for. The area was perfect, filled with bars hosting a mixed crowd where you will fit right in - whoever you are! moreover, it'(email hidden) to stay if you want to go where the french go (many great bars have 3 euro beers and there are delicious restaurants around. many people living in paris come to the area when they want to go out regardless of where their apartment is).
to get to the sights you have a lot of metros near by (even one that takes you right to the sacré coeur). paris is such a lovely and culturally rich city so walking to the sights is also a great option (it takes about 45 minutes to get to notre dame on foot depending on your speed).
the actual apartment was great as well. very clean, fast internet, and comfortable. there is a separate kitchen and bathroom which makes the main room feel more spacious. the only drawback for me was the street noise, but i got a pair of earplugs and slept fine.
catherine, tatiana, and maribel are all very nice people. catherine, moreover, is very speedy in replying to any question you might have and speaks fluent french, italian, and english which might be quite helpful to non-native english speakers.
overall a great stay. highly recommended!
We rented this flat for a month (28.02.2013-28.03.2013) and we fully satisfied and fascinated. The location is very comfortable, two metro lines are near, but we loved a ten minutes walk to a large metro hub "République". The neighborhoods are very friendly. The are many good pubs and cafes at the next street and charming Onze bar at the corner with our street. The street is not crowded so the nights were quiet even on weekends.
The building doesn't has an elevator, but for us it wasn't a problem. The flat inside is the same (email hidden), light and comfortable. Fast wi-fi and free landline numbers.
Catherine is a very friendly and nice person, who patiently answered all our question, provided us all needed documents for getting a visa and gave us very detailed instructions about the flat and placement around. Tatiana, who met and followed us home is a warm-hearted and enjoyable person. She sent us some announcements of interesting events in Paris during our staying.
At the kitchen were some food, baguette, tea and coffee, so we didn't have to go out to eat after our arrival.
There was not even a hint of any inconvenience. We highly recommend.
Perfect stay in Paris! Recommended.
This apartment was a lovely, well-outfitted place for a week's stay in Paris. It had everything we needed -- and the internet connection was VERY good. I too was surprised to read about the toilet that does not take toilet paper -- something I didn't know until I booked the room. However, it was not as inconvenient as I thought it might be - we just had to make a daily garbage run. The metro stop at Couronnes was very convenient - we used it every day coming and going. The very strong odor in the staircase and hall may prove to be a drawback for those with sensitive noses, but I am pleased to recommend this clean and spacious apartment to Paris visitors.
The apartment was great! Very clean and perfect for our stay in Paris. It proved to be around a 15 or so minute walk to La Marais which worked well for us. If youre looking for something close, but not exactly in the centre of paris, this is the place for you!
I know Catherine since a long time. I racomnd her (email hidden). Her flat is very bright and with a wanderfool mantel piece of red marble, and an ancient parquet. Very charming apartment...
