Benvenuti a Firenze!
Nice and comfortable apartment in a great location near the city centre.
Caterina made the booking process very easy and made every effort to accommodate our needs. She met us at the apartment on time and gave us helpful information. The apartment is nice and spacious and well equipped. It is in a nice local neighborhood with restaurants and the best gelato stand. It is an easy 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride into the city. Would definitely recommend Caterina's apartment.
Caterina's apartment is beautiful and quiet, a peaceful place that is a short walk from all the favorite spots in Firenze. My friend and I were both very comfortable here all month.
The master bathroom has a large tub- this is a huge luxury in Florence, where most of the other places I have stayed had only a very tiny shower. We never ran out of hot water to take showers in the morning. Caterina kindly left us extra sets of clean sheets a nd towels. The washing machine and dishwasher appeared to be brand new, and made cleaning very convenient. The cupboards were stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals and have coffee in the morning, and we replaced the food we ate when we left so the next guest would have the same convenience. The wifi connection was very fast. The air conditioning works like a charm. There was also a great little collection of books for us to read, which I appreciated.
Around the corner you will find one of the best restaurants in Florence, Vecchia Botella, where you will find wonderful and inexpensive traditional Florentine fare. We also recommend Tranvail (a charming spot across from the park,) and there is a great artisanal gelateria next door. In the park near the apartment, you will find a place to fill up your water bottles (FOR FREE) with clean fresh water, either natural or frizzante.
We return to Firenze once or twice each year and this is by far the nicest apartment I have stayed at in Florence in the past few years. Its a GREAT VALUE for a lovely, comfortable apartment. On top of everything, Caterina was quick to reply to any communications. She is very kind and speaks several languages fluently.
In my experience, you could not find a better place to stay in Florence. I recommend it highly.
We never met Caterina but did meet her parents who provided 2 sets of keys along with a map of where the nearest restaurants and markets were. The place was spacious and clean and we enjoyed the residential neighborhood. The amenities are accurate and we enjoyed the walks to center city. We would recommend this place. I think a picture of the balcony should be added so people are not disappointed with it's size.
My wife, 2 daughters, 10 and 7, and I stayed at Caterina's place for 4 nights in July. We couldn't have felt more comfortable and pleased. Caterina was very nice, and was at the apartment to greet us when we arrived from the train station. She explained everything very well and was very accommodating. The flat is spacious, very clean and perfect for a family. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning nice to fight the summer heat. The location in oltrarno was great as it was close enough to walk to the tourist sights but far enough to have access to real local shops and restaurants rather than the tourist traps. An added bonus that we discovered is that the bus to and from Siena stops at main intersection in front of her place! I highly recommend staying at Caterina's place.
We stayed at Caterina's apartment for 2 weeks and had a good time there. The apartment does not quite look like in the photos on Airbnb as there are no wall decorations or plants or carpets but it's fine. We put our baby's crib in the second bedroom where there are two single beds so that worked out quite nicely. The bathtub is big, which was great for our baby. The air conditioning, which is located only in the living room, not the bedrooms, works very well and maintained a cool environment during our stay in July! The wifi worked perfectly - very fast! There is only one chair on the balcony but it is very nice to sit outside in the evenings or early mornings. The kitchen is ok...not the best stocked I've seen, but not the worst. The cleaning supplies are well stocked so you won't have to run out to get those. The apartment was clean and neat. The washing machine broke while we were there, which was unfortunate, but Caterina said she is going to replace it so I'm sure the next tenants will have a functional machine. There is no hair dryer so bring your own! There were lots of towels and linens for us during our stay. The location of the apartment is great - there is a playground nearby for our baby to play in, a grocery store 3 minutes away as well as a little deli where you can get great cured meats. The walk to the historic part of Florence is around 15-20 minutes and on the way, you will pass lots of other little deli places where you can get stuff for dinner on your way home from sightseeing. It is most definitely a well used apartment but it works well for easy-going people.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this apartment.
Caterina and her family were absolutely wonderful hosts, and made our time in Florence extraordinary. They were all so helpful and accommodating, and available whenever we needed them. The apartment is ideally situated in a quieter area of Florence, away from hoards of tourists, but with excellent local restaurants and shops around and only a 20-25 minute walk to the main center of the city. The apartment is well furnished and cosy, we felt very at home by the time we left. I couldn't recommend Caterina and her apartment more, we had a lovely 2 months living there.
We enjoyed meeting Caterina, she is very friendly and communicating with her was very easy!
This place was spacious and was a comfortable stay. Having a washer and a full kitchen is so nice when you are traveling. You may need to buy things like laundry soap, and some cooking staples like olive oil, but that is not a problem just something to keep in mind when you go get your groceries.
We enjoyed how it was located away from the touristy areas and the neighborhood is quiet at night. However, there were times we wished we were located a little bit closer to the city centre. After doing so much walking in Rome right before Florence, our legs were very tired! However, the walk is definitely do-able. It is about a 10 to 15 min brisk walk to the train station, just to give you an idea. This is of course a matter of personal preference.
The unit directly beside this apartment is also a rental and the wall is shared between the two apartments. This is not a problem with quiet neighbor. There was one evening where our neghbours had a party and it was very loud, but we messaged Caterina and she had them shut it down immediately. I was very impressed with how quickly she took care of this, and I don't think it is something that would happen very often.
I would certainly recommend staying here again as it is a comfortable spacious place and a great price for Florence! If you are worried about too much walking, renting a bike may be a nice idea!
Flat is very nice cosy and well situated. The district and square is very green and beautiful. It is about 10 minutes to go to center. Flat was clean and we have all supllies we need to cook and clean our clothes. We d like very much to seat onthe balcony in the evening. So we enjoyed a rest in Katerina flat very much and can advice her and her flat with any doubts.
