Easy going retired writer, horse stable and ranch owner, Texan, Semi-retired. Look forward to meeting you!
We had a great time staying with Lin! She allowed us our privacy, we had our own entrance and our own bathroom. She has animals, which for us was a plus! We had wi-fi access, coffee in the morning, and beautiful views. Lin went out of her way to be helpful, and we were very comfortable!
Lin took me in on short request, I wasn't sure I would be able to find somewhere to stay in time. I am very thankful for that. Lin is a wonderful host and made every effort to make sure I was comfortable during my stay. Thanks for everything Lin. :)
Lin is a wonderful host. I instantly felt very at home in Lin's house, almost as if I were staying with family! Even though I was on a work trip, it was perfect to have the experience of staying here and seeing a glimpse of ranch life. Lin is an interesting woman, generous, and friendly with some great stories to share.
I stayed with Lin for a month while I was transitioning from Washington state. I felt very welcome and at home at Lin's ranch house and it was the perfect place for me to stay while figuring out permanent living/working arrangements. I would absolutely stay with Lin again!
Lin was so welcoming, and I slept fantastically here (I think its the presence of the animals). I learned alot about this region of Austin from chatting with her, and appreciated all the creative and beautiful arts and crafts around her home! It was a perk to enjoy her perfect coffee in the morning, too.
Plan on at least 15 mins to get to downtown Austin, possibly a bit more with traffic. This property can be tricky to locate in the dark- I called Lin and she kindly walked me through it.
Having a private bathroom is a major plus. It should be noted that the entrance to the outside does go through Lin's office.
If you're planning to buy groceries, you may wish to tell Lin in advance, as the fridge and freezer are quite stocked.
This listing is best for animal people who have a car available.
Lin was a great host...although our trip didn't go an expected, and we left Austin (URL HIDDEN) was nice to have a comfy bed to rest up! The room has it's own entrance and bathroom, so although you are in her home, you have complete privacy.
Lin was a wonderful host! From the moment I arrived, she made me feel welcome in her home. She is very knowledgable about the city of Austin and about things to do and places to see. She gave me my space but was also always willing to have a conversation or give advice when I sought it. Her house is decorated with so many cool things to look at. I am looking forward to staying in touch with Lin!
The room was great, plenty of storage space if you are traveling with a lot of things, plus it has its own bathroom. The bed was comfortable, too. AC/fan worked perfectly too.
The ranch was amazing. If you are an animal lover/outdoors person, this is a great experience. While downtown Austin is easily accessible from the ranch, the property has a real country-side feel, providing peace and quiet. Lin has 6 horses on her property (3 miniatures), 3 dogs, 1 cat and 1 rooster. They were all adorable with their own personalities...very fun to have so many loving creatures around.
I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay for anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable, unique and enjoyable stay in Austin, Texas! :)
Thank you, Jenny! I love my little slice of heaven and love sharing it with people, particularly lovely ones like yourself. I am glad you came and stayed and hope to see more of you in the future. Best regards, Lin
I had a great time staying with Lin. Her ranch is located 20 minutes from downtown Austin. As you drive in, it feels like stepping in another world! If you like horses, this is the place to stay. Lin's house is cute and cosy and decorated with horses painting and photos. Her 3 dogs are lovely and were very welcoming. I got to enjoy a cup of coffee on the first morning I was there with Lin. We had a nice little talk and then walked over the ranch to see the horses and say hi to the 12 day old colt!
My room was small, but it had everything I needed and was clean. I had my own bathroom, which was great. The bed was comfortable and waking up to the birds singing was priceless. Thank you Lin. I'd definitely stay there again.
The reservation was canceled 42 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Lin was a wonderful host. She would often go beyond even Texan hospitality to make our stay more enjoyable or comfortable, and taught us a lot about Texan history and food! We even benefited from her great cooking a couple of times!! The ranch is lovely and was a great oasis of calm within the craziness of SXSW Austin downtown. Her dogs were very lovable too!
