Me and 7 friends rented Lynn & Ted's house and we had a FANTASTIC time!! The house is awesome, my new dream house, super homy and has all what you need. Lynn and Ted are the best host ever, you can feel the Southern hospitality. They left breakfast for us and all that we need to make sure that we had the best time. Ted sent me tips and recommended me places to go, super helpful. The house is located in a really nice neighborhood with a lot of unique restaurants so you can experience Austin 100%. I totally recommend their place, you will love it!!
Thank you Lynn & Ted!
Lynn and her husband were very accommodating. Our first airbnb house fell through but Lynn and her family were able to rent their house last minute. The house was not exactly what I imagined but it worked out great for my guests. The chickens in the back definitely added to the experience.
Lynns's place was great, we had an amazing stay in Austin. Handy for the convention centre, with some other cool bars nearby too. Lynn was very helpful and accommodating and the house was comfortable with lots of character - including some chickens! Thanks!
The owners of this house are incredibly hospitable. After introduction we exchanged cell phone #s in case anything came up. Throughout the week the owners would follow up to ensure we had everything we needed. This included fresh eggs left at our backdoor daily from their chickens.
The size of the house was much bigger than is pictured online. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room.
The house came fully equipped to cook which was also great. Plenty of shops around within walking distance. If you're looking for good beer or wine just head across the street to the gas station. He has a shockingly good selection.
My favorite part was definitely the patio outback. There is an area setup for a campfire and a bathtub (yes a bathtub) full of firewood. This is where most of our nights were spent.
This house is absolutely amazing. It was perfect for our trip. We were 8 girls, and all of us were in shock of how beautiful and cozy the house was. The pictures do not do it justice. Also, Lynn was a great hostess. They left us information on the house and recommendations for things to do in Austin. We ate the fresh eggs from the chickens in the backyard that were delicious! I cannot recommend this house more, it made our trip the unforgettable experience that it was.
Lynn's home was warm and comfortable. It was amazing to be able to get fresh eggs everyday, have a nice fire out back, or jump on the trampoline. Beds and bathrooms were clean, spacious, and stocked with the essentials. Internet was fast. Everyone commented on how relaxing and peaceful the house was.
The house is only a short walk (~15-20 minutes) from the main drag (6th street), and is right next door to an amazing vegetarian restaurant / juice bar called Mr. Natural. There's also a wonderful Mexican restaurant right across the way, a small convenience store with local goods & a giant glass mural of Gandhi, and plenty of places to buy piñatas.
Lynn was a super accommodating and friendly host, easy to get in touch with, and gracious even when one of our fellow house guests accidentally set off the alarm at 1am.
Staying at Lynn's home was absolutely perfect! Coordinating with Lynn was very easy and when we arrived the house was exactly as pictured. The location was perfect - we loved exploring East Austin area. We had 8 people on our trip and the house fit us all very comfortably. Also, Lynn has a great backyard with a trampoline and a fire pit! Unfortunately, it rained the first two days we were there so all the fire pit materials were wet. Before we could even think of where to get wood from, Lynn had emailed us that she would drop off dry materials in case we wanted to make a fire on our last night. She definitely went out of her way to make sure our experience in her home was perfect. If you are heading to Austin, then her home would be a great place to stay! We would definitely stay here again!
This was such a great comfy warm home. Lynn was really sweet and toughtful of what we would need and beyond what we needed. Perfect place to have a weekend getaway
Lynn and her family's home was a great place to stay in Austin. It contained all of the amenities that someone would hope for over a long weekend. The house was spacious, and had plenty of rooms and beds for a large group of 8. The backyard was perfect for sitting and relaxing outside in the patio area. The location was really close to the S. Congress shopping and downtown area as well. It was super easy to get to and from any of the areas in downtown Austin.
Lynn was also a great host, very nice and hospitable, gave us some great ideas for what to do over the weekend, and even left us some goodies for our stay.
We would definitely stay here again if we are even in the Austin area!
I stayed in this house for 5 nights, along with 7 co-workers, while attending a conference in downtown Austin.
The house is lovely--very clean, beautifully designed, and very comfortable for cooking meals and hanging out. We loved having fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast. There is a backyard with patio and chairs that was perfect for having a few drinks in the evening.
Lynn was a fantastic host. She and Ted offered to pick us up from the airport, gave us a great orientation to the neighborhood and the city, and generally made everything very easy and comfortable. The breakfast foods and coffee were unexpected and very good. In short, we couldn't have been happier with our accommodations.
We got around easily by bus to the convention center (less than 10min), and we were so busy that we were fine without a car. It was tricky to catch a bus late at night, as they only run hourly and stop altogether before midnight. But it's not far, so it's reasonable to take a cab. It's less than a mile to the Lady Bird Lake walking/running trails, so that was also a bonus.
We all wished that we could have stayed longer to enjoy Austin and the house. It was so much nicer (and cheaper!) than staying in sterile hotels downtown. Thanks, Lynn and Ted!
Lynn and her family are very kind and generous people. It was a pleasure to welcome them in my place, which they left clean and tidy as it should be. I can just highly recommend you to welcome them.
Lynn is creative and clever and kind and has a great sense of fun and style. Anyone who has the chance to hang in her space should consider themselves lucky.
lynn is one of the most considerate, kind, mindful, respectful, beautiful people i know.
