I am a newlywed city dweller who wouldn't live anywhere in Texas but in Austin. I work with words professionally but music, especially hot jazz from the 1920s and 30s, is my thing. My home is my castle, and it is full of books, film posters, and the ephemera of earlier times, like a tube tombstone radio and a few manual typewriters. I love to travel, and I enjoy sharing my town with travelers from far and near. My spouse is of a similar bent, and, like me, he is at home in the city or the country or the back of beyond in the deep wilderness. We want to spend some time in Paris, go to Lake Baikal, and and sleep out under the stars anytime we get the chance. In addition to being consummate hosts, We are ideal guests--tidy, self-sufficient, social and adventurous. Our cat travels almost as much as we do, but she dislikes take off and landing in airplanes, even though she is adamant about looking out the window at both.
