Do not stay here unless you want to (1) get lost on your way, (2) live in filth, and (3) be harassed by the unit's caretaker--an old man named Y.P. Chong.
I am a female who traveled to HK alone and stayed here from Feb 14-15, 2014.
This listing does not even state the unit number or the name of the bldg. Arriving late at night (around 11pm of Feb 14), it took me some time to find 6-14A which points to Victoria Mansion, and then I had to ask a fellow tenant to call up Mayor-HK to ask for the unit number (8C)! Upon entering the unit and my room, I was disgusted with the filth: there was hair and dust on the room's floor, the underside of the comforter was with unidentified black spots. I had to take the broom and clean the room myself! The toilet inside the room was too small to take a shower in. The toilet bowl also had pee marks! It looks like a man peed there and did not shoot properly, leaving yellow marks all over. I have photos as evidence. Shower had to be taken in the bigger toilet in the unit's main area (which was equally filthy and full of dust). Y.P. Chong greeted me the next morning and treated me out for breakfast and tea. But true to my suspicions, it was partly because he liked me. He held my hand of my second day of stay there and kissed me on my forehead (would have been my cheek/lips if I didn't dodge!!!), and repeatedly told me he liked me and would wish that I stay in HK with him, even though I repeatedly told him I am engaged to be married! As a woman who traveled to HK alone at that time, I got really scared for my safety! Good thing I was able to successfully run away with all my bags before he could do anything else.
I absolutely would not have stayed there for if it wasn't for work. And if I had time after that incident, I would have filed a case at the police station.
People, be warned!
Host (Mr. Chong) was very helpful, showed up on time. Place is small as expected in HK but very convience to everything. Great a single or couple to stay. Will rent it again next time in HK.
Cozy, clean, convenient, and quiet! This place was perfect for my HK visit. I couldn't be more satisfied. I hope to stay again on my next visit. The neighborhood is so convenient; shopping, eating, park, all nearby.
Clean, neat, good location, nearby many delicious restaurants within walking distance.
Jerome is a great guy and I'm glad to have shared some of my time in Hong Kong with him. He's a super generous and interesting person with the best sense of humour. (I still laugh about the hilarious things he said or that we did together during my stay.) Jerome is also a fair and respectful host that carefully balances privacy, independence and professionalism with friendliness and an unrivaled understanding and appreciation for his city. You can rely on his help and advice to make your stay more enjoyable and certainly more meaningful. He has a good knowledge of managing guests and is personally passionate about travel and tourism. I definitely recommended being hosted by Jerome! and if possible (he's a busy bee) you should chat and hang out with him. You're sure to laugh hysterically (and also learn a great deal about HK). Also, if you're quick, you might be very fortunate to meet Jerome's lovely mother and their giant temporary dog. Hahaha. Hey Jerome!
We spent 3 days at Jerome's place - Well located and confortable -

I usually have nice memorable experience while staying in an airbnb host's apartment but I would say honestly for this time, I had my worst experience ever! I don't like giving out negative reviews but I have to do it this time. The description of the apartment was so misleading, this is not an apartment where you get to take up the entire apartment by yourself but it's actually only a room that they're offering to rent and the living room will be sharing with others. So the day when I checked-in, someone was still there and haven't checked out yet. I need to point out that the caretake for the apartment (old Chinese man) was pretty rude, I seriously refuse to talk to him because not the fact that he can't solve the issue as he seems like he was not listening and responding the tenant's request and so he goes on and repeated himself during the argument. Also, the apartment was pretty dirty and never get clean before or during the time I stay there. The bedsheets and the pillowcase stinks and dust were everywhere in the bathroom and living room! Funny thing is that, they only time they came in is to change the bed sheet from the other room but not the room where I'm staying:( The caretaker also refuse to come and do the cleaning because he said, this will cost extra to get it done....and blah..blah..blah. I wrote to the host and I don't understand what he is implying or what he's trying to say in a logical way to solve the issue. I truly think they need to hire someone to rewrite the description and knowing how to reply on tenant's needs! Gosh, what a nightmare for my stay in HK! I originally planed to stay there for 3 night, so I end up checked out a day earlier to get of there!!!
Catherine is super nice she always reply my request very fast. As we know the living condition in Hong Kong is extremely tight. We felt very uncomfortable at first especially coming from big and spacious Los Angeles area. But people kind of get used to the environment very quickly. I started to feel settled well after just 2 days. At the end I had to leave early than I originally booked and Catherine was helpful to assist some refund. In general we felt happy to be taken very good care of.
