Kahi and Louise are both amazing hosts who welcome guests into their home and provide local tips for enjoying their neighborhood and island. Their place offered respite from the bustling downtown and had stunning views - especially at sunrise. The room is modestly sized but was perfect for my needs with a really comfy bed and a waterfall just outside! I took the bus during my stay and found it convenient to most places within the city. You just need to budget in the time. Highly recommended all around.
This is the perfect place to stay if you're wanting to see parts of Honolulu, but don't necessarily want to be right in the middle of the craziness and tourists. The location is in a very cool part of town, with hip restaurants and easy access to everything. The property is beautiful, and quiet. The hosts are friendly and warm. Highly recommend!
Kahi and Louise were great! The location is awesome, close to the freeway and town but not in the crazy city like waikiki. I definitely would stay with them again! We were both very busy, so we didn't see much of each other but overall they are great host.
Les 2 hôtes sont très sympathiques. Lieu très agréable.
This was our first air bnb experience and i have nothing but great things to say about our stay. Kahi and Louise were awesome hosts! Their home is in an amazing location, 10-15 min drive to Waikiki, close to hanauma bay and much more. If you have any question about what to do or see, they have amazing tips on where to go. We would definitely stay here again. On a side note, if you love cheesecake, you HAVE to try otto cake!! they have probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. :). It's walkable distance from their home.
Excellent hosts, the best part was to finish the Waikiki day in Hot Tub with great sunset and city view.
This was my first time using Airbnb, so Kahi and Louise were my first hosts. The experience was great, I was comfortable and felt like I was staying at a friend's house. The room was spacious enough for 2 people we didn't really have to use the AC, equipped with a ceiling fan, the room stays cool enough. The garage was a huge plus, the property is big (IMO) and we were allowed to roam the place if we felt inclined to do so. A gorgeous view of a skyline can be seen. I put my Luau bead necklace on the guard dog LOL. Kahi and Louise provided me with great insight on what to do on the island with my limited time. Kahi even drew me a map of the Island and marked points of interest, which Louise later saw and in disapproval told me to take a printed map that was in the room, LOL. She also pointed out her opinion of places of interest. Hanging out with those 2 at the end of my day was always fun, try getting Louise to say "dog" in Spanish. Lmao
The place was just as expected and described with super-friendly hosts. They took me out for a surf right upon arrival, would give me their car to grab a bite as I was hungry and helped out with just any information I needed. I could use their washing machine, too. The bed is super-comfy and the ceiling fan is just perfect if you want to enjoy your favourite book whilst listening to the waterfall next door and watching the sun go down over the skyline of Honolulu. Kahi and Louise were fast-responsive within the booking process and really nice to have a chat with. This is what airbnb is all about, this was airbnb at its best. Thank you and Mahalo!
This place is great, room is simple and clean. Bed is comfortable and firm. Newly installed ceiling fan for perfect temp. Fresh eggs? Yup. Louise was out of town :( but Kahi is a great host and generally just a great guy. Interesting and easy going, full of the aloha spirit. Totally enjoyed our stay here. Will definitely return.
Klasse!!
Thumbs up, we really enjoyed staying with Kahi & Louise!!!
I was Kahi's roommate for a year in 07 while on a work assignment in the islands. He's a great guy and extremely helpful. The house is spectacular and the location ideal. You really can't beat jumping in the hot tub after a day at the beach and enjoying the incredible view of Honolulu. It's perfect!
The neighborhood of Kaimuki is a great spot to be in. There is an awesome sushi take out place on the corner and a couple of really fantastic restaurants all within walking distance. At the top of Sierra drive is one of my favorite hikes in all of Hawaii. It's breathtaking. You'll be really glad you decided to stay with Kahi and Louise. Aloha!
I first stayed at Kaimuki in April 2012 alongside my partner, who knew Kahi and his wife Louise from a previous visit to Hawaii. Happy and relaxed, not only is Kahi the perfect host but his spirit and commitment to Hawaii's oceans and land resonates throughout Kaimuku. You'll struggle to find both better company and a better sunset (the view over Honolulu from the hot tub is breathtaking!) in Hawaii.
Hard-working, honest and always approachable, I couldn't recommend Kahi and his place enough. Enjoy your visit!
