"I am not an Athenian, nor a Greek, but a citizen of the world." - Socrates

...sums up my personal ethos....

Considerate, adaptable, open-minded international professional & entrepreneur with an amoeba-like personality. I've been told I'm easy to talk to. I'm passionate about reading, writing, travel, great relationships, friendships, new experiences, doing deals where everyone wins and... man, I don't know...just having fun, living life on one's own terms and accomplishing one's goals!!!!
I'd say I'm also "in to" nonfiction, backpacking, riding, museums, politics, economics, secular spirituality, Scandinavian culture, quantum physics (I dig the theorists but appreciate the experimentalists), deep house music, world music, lounge music, classical lute music, international development, volunteering, hella good international cuisine, new media, private equity and above all, independent thinking....

I can appreciate a good wine and know what it's like to live life according to the tide calendar vs. the automatic appointment updates on a smartphone ;). I may seem kinda cool (dangerous presumptuousness??) but truth be told I'm the biggest closet geek in the world, lol...

One of the coolest things I've done in the past year was volunteer at a toy drive during Christmas in northern Mexico.

You should have seen the kids' faces! I can admit that sometimes I'm a bit self absorbed (who among us isn't in the Gen X generation?!). Anyhoo, seeing the kids lined up for like 3 blocks just to get *one* toy plus a plain white plastic bag filled with peanuts, a few candy canes and fruit really left an utterly unforgettable impression on me. It just makes you realize that the important things in life are free but priceless....but I'm digressing here I suppose.

Anyway, one of these days, I'm going to learn to sew so I can shut up my prissy older sisters who think I spend way too much time "in front of the computer".

Thanks for checking out the profile....

I wouldn't exactly say I'm "self-absorbed"; I think I prefer the term "self-focused". But not just a little "s" but also big S as in the Self of man. That probably reflects my character and values better ;).

Are you still reading this?! I guess if you have a lovely place to rent you've got time to choose nice people to rent to, huh?
